Bedard breaks down 3rd and 17 play

"Fail to finish off"?

Did the Pats make a double-digit comeback I'm unaware of?

Well if you've got the lead and the other team in their territory on 3rd and 17 and your supposed to be the best defense in the league...

I don't see anything wrong with that characterization. The Jets continued to not finish by giving gronk a freebee and failing to respect the clock!

The title has been corrected...but how about this sentence:

"Defensively, there are two schools of thought on defending that kind of a defense. "

I noticed that. Poor writing.

That's more like a typo, IMO. It's an inevitable part of the new world of real-time journalism -- in the past, Bedard (or an editor or proofreader) would have had a chance to look the piece over another time before publishing and catch the slip.

Personally, I liked reading his close look at a pivotal play. It was a rare football article with actual football content.

That's a typo. This is poor sentence construction:

Edelman ran hard at safety Dion Bailey, who was in the game because starter Calvin Pryor (ankle) was out and was claimed off waivers from the Seahawks less than a month ago.

This sounds like Calvin Pryor was claimed off waivers.

But I agree that some writing issues aside, it is a great article.

I thought it was insightful and agree on the lack of editorial control these days.

I noticed that also. You need to take responsibility for your writing if you have a large audience.
