Always support good writers, but it's sad that I'd been watching the patriots for years before he was born.

I would love for some writer to get a hold of Ron "The Humble One" Hobson and do a definitive take on the unbelievable first 25 years of the team. No disrespect to Chris Price and yes disrespect to Felger, but there are tons more stories other than the ones that have been recycled from the Will McDonough columns. I know, I used to compile them for a Pats history forum when I had database access as an MLS student.

I wish Will had taken a shot at it and i doubt Hobson wants to, but what a project for a young writer to have source materiel from a writer who covered them for 34 years, while his father covered sports in the area for thirty years before that.

Apparently, the retired Hobson is on the hall of fame selection committee, at least as of 2013 [though listed on McGinest HOF award page].

Hobbies first real assignment is an hilarious story, I never heard.

Just throwing it out there while there's still a connection to a great, funny and heroic story. As far as I'm concerned the '85 playoff run is still the greatest string of blood and guts grudge match victories ever for the Pats [2015 looks to be fun, though].
