Whether he was or not, he didn't deserve to be killed.
I never said he deserved to be killed, I just think that he was running with people that made him vulnerable to being killed.

Jail is training camp for prison of course...

Personally, I think Hernandez will thrive in prison. He will have followers just because of who he is and he will be feared because of his size and the heinousness of his crimes.

He'll be in danger if they actually intern him in Walpole. Shirley isn't exactly a sweet pad either (have a cousin who did some years there).

"Thrive in Prison" is kind of an oxy-moron, isn't it? Just sayin'.

There are not many guys in Walpole or Shirley who have killed at least 3 people by the age of 23, weigh 240lbs and have played the most violent sport in the world at the highest level. I think the people around Hernandez are in a lot more danger than he is.

Between 2001-2011 there were 2 prison murders in the MA prison system, I think that the badassness of the MA prison system is greatly exaggerated. CA had 142 murders during that same period of time, if he was doing time there I would agree with the suggestion but he is not a skinner so I do not see anyone gunning for him just because he played football. Sports ability is still applicable in jail, and Hernandez is great at football and basketball.

...and killing people in cold blood.

I just caught myself thinking about how great it would be if Aaron wasn't such a dummy and was still on the team. Reminds me of that other dummy, Bias.

Today the Pats visit the White House.

And Aaron Hernandez will be transferred to the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center, where he will spend the rest of his life.

This entire thing feels surreal. I have not been able to muster much more than sadness all around.
Some momentary anger, then I just shake my head and wonder why. I studiously avoided every mention of it until the verdict, then read everything I could find about background, looking for an answer. Have not found one that satisfies.

I have to say, I will miss his straight leg run to the endzone, and the 'make it rain' celebration. Aaron, as a player was brilliant!

But as he said 'what is to be, is up to me'

Very apt.

Couldn't agree more. Hernandez will own whatever state prison they decide to send him. He's got the black inmates and spanish inmates on his side.

AH will be considered to be a "trophy", so he will be in danger where ever he goes.. in prison there is always someone tougher, more manipulative and badder than you are.. he might be a sports hero on the streets, but inside high walls there is a completely different culture.

He is also not part of a gang so that puts him in a precarious situation as well...

Comparing California Prisons to Mass Prisons is folly.. California has about 135K prisoners while Mass. has about 11K....

Every prison system is "bad".. it is a violent, topsy turvy world that makes little sense to people viewing it from the outside..

I have to disagree, I think Hernandez is one of the worst murderers of any notable murderer I have seen in my lifetime.

Seriously, it's almost like he wanted to get caught
