WR Kenbrell Thompkins waived (update: claimed by Raiders)

Another of Brady's to go, KT should be a Jet right before we play them.

Though emotionally I like KT and think he will eventually do very well, he does appear to be the most likely WR to release (to avoid the why didn't they release a different position/player).

Their not going to cut DA (too much a cap hit this early in the season), if you look at Football Outsiders KT was behind Dobson and LaFell last year and Tyms (big, tall and fast) looked good in pre-season and should be our best deep threat (IMHO) once he gets back in the game.

Hopefully he will clear waivers (I don't think he will) and come back. Either way I wish him the best.

Actually, there is a deadline for them to play Sunday night. It was 4PM today.

And their roster exception expires on Monday at 4pm, so a hard decision to activate or cut is required by then.

I expect whatever happens in the game tomorrow night will be an influence on the decision for those two.

I expect KT to clear waivers. Despite having a top QB, the Pats have one of the worst passing offenses in the NFL. Obviously, their receivers must stink. Why would you want to claim a receiver who is good enough to make the game day active roster for this offense?

Only a with a craptastistic receiver corp like the one they now have would this be a big deal.

the only thing that is shocking is that it was not done in the offseason so he could find a replacement #4 WR but it should not be that hard, maybe BB is tired of hearing the fans and media ask why KT and Dobson ( who are not good WR's ) are not on the field LOL

I kind of saw that coming, I mean, I wanted a trade, he kept bubbling the ball in his catches this year, it's something he could not fix, I wanted them to load him with catches in these first games to bump the stats and get a trade for a 5th, but with this offense...

let's see what's next, I liked the guy, but I believe that you need a better product if the goal is SB, at least the organization seems keep this ambition.

Just read that Tyms and Browner weren't activated today meaning they don't play tomorrow, which again is somewhat surprising, especially Browner.

I think it's more because the cap hit would be pretty bad, but if you want to think everything is a personal decision then go right ahead.

But isn't the cap hit a sunk cost? You get hit with that whether he's on the roster or not, but if he's not it opens up a roster spot.

I don't think he is a super star but if he can get on the field maybe he can make some plays but that's not saying much cause street FA now out of the NFL Austin Collie also made some plays for the pats. only time will tell on Dobson
