Yup. The Denver win was most unfortunate.
Washington was blatantly tanking as soon as they traded away two of their best defenders at the trade deadline. Later in the year, it was clear that Brissett gave them a better chance to win, but they kept throwing Howell out there.
It definitely hurts a team like the Pats….ie. strong roster on defense, but lots of holes on offense…..that this draft is relatively devoid of blue chip defensive players. 9 out of the first 10 players, or even potentially 1-10 could be offensive players. I agree that it is risky to drop to 11...
While we are waiting for the announcements that the Pats have traded for Sneed and signed Smith and Simmons, check out the “dress” that our daughter chose for her doll this morning, from a bag of clothes that she has outgrown:
That’s my girl!
- Trade 34 and a 4th in ‘25 for Sneed (obviously assuming that an extension can be agreed upon).
- Sign Simmons to a 2 year deal.
***Best defense EVA***
They would only have to weaponize the offense enough to score 17+ points per game.
- Sign Smith to a 2 year deal with a void year to...
That’s the price we have to pay when our beloved state needs more tax revenue to pay the obscene, gluttonous, ever-growing union pensions and when we not only accept an unlimited number of undocumented immigrants into the state, but also decide to treat them better than we do our homeless...
Trying not to overreact but I’m feeling much less content after day 3 than I was after day 1. I want to see more urgency and aggressiveness. One certainty, however, is that the pitchforks would be out in full force if this same free agency haul occurred with Bill running the show.
Not sure what to make of him. He was good in '21, then terrible in '22. Like, really terrible. 12 sacks allowed terrible. A nagging patellar tendon injury and playing next to a rookie LG did ihinder him that year. Not sure about last year.
We are getting trolled hard by the football Gods. We aren’t over the shock of Tenn swooping on and signing Ridley and they announce that the Pats have signed two depth interior lineman (DT and OG) that most of us have never heard of.
Maybe one of the former Tompa-Gronka thread regulars can...
How is this relevant to Ridley, when it is clear that he took the money? The Titan’s offense also blows. He’s not going there because he feels that their skill position players give him a better chance to succeed.
If you gave me the option of 17 games of Brissett versus 17 games of Levis...
22m/yr, if true, would have been agent spin. It is all about the guaranteed money. Wewill have to see the details of the Tennessee contract and how likely the incentives and bonuses are to be earned but for now it is a 4/50 contract, not a 4/92. He wasn’t getting $22 million per year...
