While you don't always draft for need, I can't see passing over multiple positions of need to add players at positions where the Patriots are loaded like cornerback and running back.

While your thinking may be logical, this is not the way the Patriots operate. They would rather draft ten or so players and have Detriot, Miami, the Giants, and Tennessee claim several of them when the Patriots cut to 53.
