Which positions would help improve the 2026 playoff chances most?

This insanity downplaying the OL is worse than 2022 when this board and media were stoked after the Pats signed retreads at LB thinking their problems were now solved. At the same time they were thinking the legendary Cameron McGrone was going to be the icing on the cake. AVT is a massive...

Which positions would help improve the 2026 playoff chances most?

Of course other positions are a need such as WR, LB, Edge and S. However, the OL were single handedly trying to lose them all the playoff games and that has to be addressed. As it stands right now, their OL is arguably worse than last year. I want two OL in the first 4 rounds at minimum.

    Stephon Gilmore - Patriot HoF'er? NFL HoF'er?

Gilmore was meh in Buffalo, but badass with the Patriots. He's easily in the Pats HOF. His play on the ball turning it over on downs in the 2017 AFCCG would be like the Butler INT had the Pats ended up winning the Super Bowl against Philly.

Which positions would help improve the 2026 playoff chances most?

OL, OL, OL, OL, OL. If they don't address this, they are cooked.

Patriots Player Departure Marte Mapu Released [UPDATE: Traded to HOU - Mapu+7th for 6th]

This was an easy call. Vrabel is 95% done clearing out the "hybrid's", bad contracts, entitled players and non system fits. This was one of Bill's worst and unnecessary draft picks. Go look at his college tape where he's extremely slow diagnosing a play. Dude also had lead feet. He had that...

Russini & Vrabel Nothing to see here?

They banged or are banging. If true, this my put the nail in the coffin on her career. It was a bad look when she got accused of messing around with the Washington GM.

*AI Clickbait* Doubs Likely Realizing Leaving GB was a Mistake

He made the right move leaving GB as they aren't going anywhere. There were the hot pick a few years ago, but those days are ending. Parsons isn't going to carry them just like he couldn't do in Dallas. Parsons is in my top 5 of the most overrated players in the last 25 years. Also, Doubs got paid.

NFL News OT: Sources: Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba agrees to record extension

What the Rams did building up to 2021 was absolutely worth it. The last time they won a Super Bowl was in 1999. Going all in was kind of the entire point when they traded for Stafford. I never understood the "not mortgaging the future" logic from fans and NFL execs as if success is later...

Player Signing FB Incoming! Patriots sign Reggie Gilliam

Because he barely plays. He only played 20% of the snaps in 2025 which was a career high for him. No wonder I've never heard of the guy. I went back to his snap count and saw he only played a whopping 16 snaps combined in two games vs the Pats .

My own personal Pats free agent signings grades

Most thought the Pats were better when they drafted Daniel Graham and Deion Branch, signed Victor Green, Cam Cleeland, Christian Fauria and.....Donald Hayes. Their defense overall was really bad defending both the run and pass. Brady was clearly a better passer, but wasn't that guy that could...

My own personal Pats free agent signings grades

Sam is going to get his usual resistance, but it's not out of the realm of possibility the Pats slide in 2026 with a tougher schedule. Also, Brady has said along the lines that whatever you did last season, doesn't mean you'll do it again next season. Nothing is guaranteed. And we seemed to...

NFL News 2026 General NFL News/Discussion/Non-Patriots free agents

I wouldn't be shocked if Jonnu Smith returns to the Pats as he previously played for Vrabel in Tennessee. Clowney is another name to keep in mind as he played for Vrabel for one season.

NFL News OT: Rams-49ers officially will kick off in Australia on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 8:35 p.m. ET

I have no idea how the players didn't have this taken out of the CBA. This is so stupid.

Today In Patriots History March 25, 1998: Pats refuse to match Jets offer for Curtis Martin

There is where I disagree. He was a meh athlete. Granted the Pats OL wasn't very good run blockers, but he was dead to rights if the blocking wasn't there ala Sony Michel in 2019. He wasn't much of a shake and bake guy rather running in a straight line. There was a 7 game stretch where he was...

Today In Patriots History March 25, 1998: Pats refuse to match Jets offer for Curtis Martin

It absolutely was disappointing as it was really difficult back in the day to find a stud RB. It still is today, but even more so then. If you didn't have a running game you were screwed. We found that out in 1999. That was brutal. From what I've read, the front office truly believed that...

Today In Patriots History March 25, 1998: Pats refuse to match Jets offer for Curtis Martin

Yes. I'm shocked the NFL didn't veto this because Parcells had inside info on the Pats cap situation. He knew the Pats wouldn't have been able to match with or without the poison pill. I've thought about that as well. Had Robert Edwards been a stud or Fred Taylor fell to them, we'd never have...

Today In Patriots History March 25, 1998: Pats refuse to match Jets offer for Curtis Martin

One of the most fascinating topics in Patriots history. As a 15 year old in 1998 without the resources we have now, I had no idea about their salary cap situation. But my theory after reading articles throughout the years was that Bob Kraft was hoping that no team was going to bother with Martin...

NFL News OT: Sources: Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba agrees to record extension

There's a difference though. Brown's contract doesn't affect other teams as they all have the same amount of slots of Max, Super Max, Mid Level, etc. They also have to meet a certain criteria in order to get paid. They can't just pay any player a max contract just because. This is what the NFL...
