Patriots Player Departure OFFICIAL 2025 Patriots roster cutdown day discussion / tracker

The transactions have been filed but have yet to be reported either by the team or media. There were a couple of Belichick years where hours went by before everything was reported.

Patriots Player Departure OFFICIAL 2025 Patriots roster cutdown day discussion / tracker

Were we watching the same player? Vederian Lowe qualifies as neither “decent” or “quality “ tackle depth.

Patriots Player Departure OFFICIAL 2025 Patriots roster cutdown day discussion / tracker

It’s a statement of the 2025 draft. Of course, all of the 2024 draft class made the 53 last year as well.

Patriots Player Departure OFFICIAL 2025 Patriots roster cutdown day discussion / tracker

I’ll be really surprised if V. Lowe makes the 53 with his $3.4 million salary still in tact. Know the have the cap space, but that’s a lot to pay an iffy backup tackle.

Predictions ahead of Tuesday 4pm EST

Tom Pelissaro just reported on the NFL network that the Pats are shopping Kyle Dugger and are offering to assume some of his salary to facilitate a trade.

    3rd QB

    Nonsense.

    2025 League cutdown discussion

A player you know you’re not keeping and is not needed to competitively practice pulls a groin walking to the dining hall. All of a sudden, he’s injured on the job and entitled to an injury settlement. Doesn’t make a lot of sense letting a fired employee stay on premises, does it.
  8. R

    3rd QB

What’s the goal here? Isn’t it upgrading the talent level in the QB room? It’s not just having a 3rd QB to have one. You want someone to challenge Dobbs for the backup spot. You want someone who can actually play if god forbid they actually have to. What you have to offer to get the best...

Predictions ahead of Tuesday 4pm EST

The #3 QB situation will be addressed at the 53 man level. The emergency QB requires the #3 QB be on the 53 man roster. Besides, I suspect the #3 QB will be a waiver claim of the best 4th stringer another team tries to to sneak through back to their PS or by trade. Both would require a place...

Looking ahead to cutdowns and waiver (EDIT: First names announced)

I take it as these are guys they were not even considering for the practice squad and putting them on waivers Friday avails them to being claimed for a look-see by another team before cutdown day.

Looking ahead to cutdowns and waiver (EDIT: First names announced)

Huh? After Tuesday, they’ll be practicing with 69 players. They now have 77 after cutting these 14. How does it affect their ability to practice in the interim?

PostGame Thread OFFICIAL 2025 PRESEASON GAME 2 POST GAME THREAD: Patriots Lose 42-10 to Giants

Maybe, Vrabel just wanted to keep the clock rolling running the ball to get the meaningless game over.

Looking ahead to cutdowns and waiver (EDIT: First names announced)

Only players with less than 4 years experience have to go through waivers until after the trade deadline.

Looking ahead to cutdowns and waiver (EDIT: First names announced)

It was Patricia and Belichick who moved Sow to the right side. Initially, they also moved him to RT which was a flop. Strange was the LG remember. Peters moved him back to LG last camp where he was on his way to starting it appeared until getting hurt in the last preseason game in Washington...

Looking ahead to cutdowns and waiver (EDIT: First names announced)

Sow had 4 different OLine coaches in 4 years here. That likely stunted Strange’s development as well along with the torn patella tendon.

Looking ahead to cutdowns and waiver (EDIT: First names announced)

Maybe. Strange’s salary is guaranteed, so they’re paying him either way.
