A fake fumble would be cool.

Popular Science Magazine Says Even a 2 PSi Low Ball Gives No Advantage

That's a great article. It basically uses an analysis by a company that specializes in computer simulations. to show that there is almost no difference between a 10.5 psi ball and a 12.5 psi ball. The guy cited in the article is a Steelers fan who is rooting for the Seahawks...

Deflation experiments show Patriots may have science on their side after all

For those of us who respect and trust the integrity of scientists, this article is worth reading. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/30/sports/football/deflation-experiments-show-patriots-may-have-science-on-their-side-after-all.html?partner=rss&emc=rss&_r=1 Thomas Healy does not have tickets to...

How worried are you about the Refs?

The refs too are on a national stage. They didn't come out of Deflategate smelling like roses, either. I suspect they will try extra hard not to be a source of controversy.

    Are we having fun yet?

Well, my sister-in-law just called and said she bought her Pommeranian a Patriots Jersey. She lives in Manhattan, so I take that as a good sign. (Why not?) As far as all the negative press, I think it comes with being a football dynasty. The NFL's and media's treatment of the Pats is so unfair...

    (Merged) NYT:Tom Brady Cannot Stop

Great long article about Tom Brady, probably the most revealing article about him I've read. The New York Times has a tendency to make articles only available to subscribers after a few days, so not sure how long this will be available...

How does a pro football HOF voter get removed?

Borges has made a name for himself by being a local guy who regularly criticizes the Pats. I would find it hard to believe that he would block a Pat from the HOF, since I believe that his complaints are at least in part an act. I think a lot of teams have a Borges, since that type of contrarian...

Patriots considering keeping Revis at his $25 million cap number

I hope the Pats find a way to keep Revis. There is nothing bad one can say about the guy. He's the best CB we've since Ty Law. He's a complete team player, is amazing to watch, conforms to the Patriots approach, is a great leader and follower, and seems to be an awfully nice person...

Let's change the narrative...so how DID the Colts balls defy Mother Nature?

I can think of two possibilities offhand. Their footballs were overinflated so deflated and remained in regulation range or they were inflated in cooler conditions so did not lose pressure.

Employee in Bathroom w. balls for 90 secs

I don't think swearing and personal attacks are allowed in the forum, fyi.

Employee in Bathroom w. balls for 90 secs

No Deus, I think you're being a bit transparent here. There are often political comments made in threads in this forum, and in another thread there is a race discussion, which is not raising conservative ire (I suspect because conservatives like the pov). The fact is my point is a valid one: the...

Employee in Bathroom w. balls for 90 secs

As I said, I made one political comment, and then three conservatives immediately piped in and objected, and I respected that. If you keep bringing it up, I have no control over that, but since that one comment I have not done it again. You guys keep harping on it. That said, my point remains...

Employee in Bathroom w. balls for 90 secs

Let's leave politics out of it, Deus Irae. That was requested by three conservatives, including you, and I'm trying to do that. I hope you'll honor that request too.

Employee in Bathroom w. balls for 90 secs

Three political conservatives have raised an objection to my comment, so the agenda is pretty transparent (on both sides). Those who don't like politics have not commented on my comment (or yours, Bob's, or Deus's). At any rate, as I said the NFL needs people who reject scientific consensus to...

Employee in Bathroom w. balls for 90 secs

I don't know much about Nye except that he's a Seahawks fan. Degrasse Tyson said that the Pats would have defeated the Colts in the vacuum of space, so I can forgive his transgression on this matter. Also, Degrasse Tyson corrected himself -- Part of the science question is exactly how much under...

Employee in Bathroom w. balls for 90 secs

Well, leave it to political conservatives to raise objections. Quit bringing up politics and I will too. But regardless, the NFL needs people who will reject science to buttress their claims that the Pats cheated. So far, none of the leaks have responded to the scientific consensus.

Employee in Bathroom w. balls for 90 secs

The NFL has leaked everything but a response to science. They are in dire need of someone who will reject scientific consensus and who better but climate deniers? Bill Nye said he's a Seahawk fan so I think his response was tongue in cheek, but could be wrong.
  18. P

Employee in Bathroom w. balls for 90 secs

It is politics, Bob. There's no other explanation for the constant attacks on the credibility of the Pats, especially over a matter that so many different people seem to agree is insigificant. The NFL has leaked everything but a response to established science. I find that very strange, don't you?
  19. P

Employee in Bathroom w. balls for 90 secs

Maybe a climate science denier can explain how a ball attendant letting 2 psi out of a ball can result in a ball 2 psi under regulation, when that ball would already be 2 psi under regulation because of climate. If the ball attendant really let air out of the ball, it would stand to reason that...

Employee in Bathroom w. balls for 90 secs

This story clearly warrants the attention to major media figures like Jimmy Fallon. The ballboy or even better Roger Goodell should be brought on to national tv and Fallon should time how long it takes them to pee and how long it takes them to deflate 11 footballs.
