Patriots Injury News Will Campbell Week 12 Injury [11/26 update: Placed on IR]

There was always Gronk in Denver. I thought it was career ending by his reaction.

Patriots Pregame Thread We're on to Cincinnati

Vrabel was cleaning house. He preferred to bring in his own people. I think that's obvious with a lot of the team's moves. If a player clearly had use, they remained on the roster. But Jake Andrews was a 4th round pick from two years (administrations) ago who hadn't gotten on the field...

NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 12 Other Games: Ω Edition - MNF - Panthers @ 49ers

They're both really top backups or competition for someone young to beat out, and if he doesn't you probably don't have the right guy. I suppose Mac could have a Sam D type of resurgence, but his arm speed still seems weak. Mills, however, seems like pure grade A backup to me.

CTE or some type of mental illness. Might never play again.

NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 12 Other Games: Ω Edition - MNF - Panthers @ 49ers

Prime Bill would have played to win if he coached last year's Patriots. He never would have intentionally tanked a game. Kraft would have left himself open to suspension in your scenario. Bill would have played scrubs if he coached the Bills, but he wouldn't have intentionally allowed players...

NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 12 Other Games: Ω Edition - MNF - Panthers @ 49ers

I want McDermott's professional life to fall apart after that stunt he pulled the last game of the year. From here on it should be known as "The Curse of the Patriots Forum."

NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 12 Other Games: Ω Edition - MNF - Panthers @ 49ers

My point was 7 losses this year was not a guarantee to make the playoffs. So in your example if either of the 8 loss teams did make it to 10-7, they would be OUT.

NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 12 Other Games: Ω Edition - MNF - Panthers @ 49ers

I knew it was over when they asked what his new bride had taught him, and Allen replied "that I'm more than a football player." Never hear that crap out of Brady's mouth!

NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 12 Other Games: Ω Edition - MNF - Panthers @ 49ers

Agreed. McDermott would have been gone long ago if not for having one of the top 3 QB's in the game. It's horrible that not only that they haven't made the Super Bowl, but the reason they never did is squarely on him.

NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 12 Other Games: Ω Edition - MNF - Panthers @ 49ers

The situation dictates his approach as correct IMO. They have one of the best defenses in the league, and for all the positives about Mills, I thought he played like a very good BACKUP QB. Buffalo has a horrible defense.

NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 12 Other Games: Ω Edition - MNF - Panthers @ 49ers

Some 10-7 team will likely make the playoffs, but it seems there could be too many 7 loss teams for all of them to be in. There are 10 teams with 5 losses or less. Three of them have two losses and oddly none have three. So 7 teams with 4/5 losses with six games left competing for 4 spots. It...

Player Signing C.J. Dippre added to 53. Saunders cut.

No you don't get what I'm trying to say so let's just leave it that we think on different levels, and it's not a knock to you because I think you have a lot of insight too.

Player Signing C.J. Dippre added to 53. Saunders cut.

But OK one last time a different way. 1) roster spots are most valuable on the initial cutdown down date, and become less valuable as time goes on because of injuries depleting the work force. Chism was a guy they legitimately could have lost on cutdown date. 2) So if you can hold off bringing...

He had a free roster spot for a month!

Isn't this exactly what I inferred by stashing players on practice squad? Of course it takes a sell by the coach.

Player Signing C.J. Dippre added to 53. Saunders cut.

I actually made the stashing players comment as a joke that might have some truth to it. It was a question, not a statement. Your explanation, of course makes the most sense, but Vrabel has shown in other circumstances that he enjoys trying to outthink the league. Also Chaisson was out one...

Player Signing C.J. Dippre added to 53. Saunders cut.

Yes I'm saying they COULD have not been elevating veterans over young players to play something like 8 snaps the next game. Of course this is just a theory/thought. I even posed it as a question. Vrabel has shown he will sacrifice a potential TD for a minute of clock time in the right...

Player Signing C.J. Dippre added to 53. Saunders cut.

I'm not going to debate you because you only see black and white, They never have elevated the two players. Perhaps they wanted to hold off until later season because if either flashed the team would need to negotiate a roster spot for them. People used to call it the Foxboro Flu during...

That's not what I'm saying at all. I started this thread and the second post on page 1 says I like that he's on the roster.
