Brady is awful, have to lol at scapegoating the WRs, coordinators

Game Day Thread The Official Patriots vs Chiefs Game Thread

Brady is finished and belichick has turned into a conservative moron punting on 4th and 1 in their half of the field for like 25 yards of field position that's immediately given up on the next play. Worried doesn't cover it, it's rebuild time.

    Sign that guy

I'd take him for a 5th not knowing his contract but I don't think he matches very well with Brady

How NFL teams ignore basic economics and draft players irrationally

The article. I was trying to take a stab at where your misuse of the word value stemmed from. Eta- If you weren't taking salary into the equation, how else did you arrive at the conclusion that the article was insinuating it is "more valuable" to take the 4th best player at his position than...

How NFL teams ignore basic economics and draft players irrationally

Charles Johnson has been in the league for 7 seasons, Hill 2. Obviously Johnson is one of a handful of guys who have been robbed of a probowl, but even given that Johnson clearly eclipses Hill by this metric. And Johnson was a 3rd round pick, Hill a 2nd, it goes the other way too in that it...

How NFL teams ignore basic economics and draft players irrationally

I didn't reword your response. Again, you are demonstrating that you either don't know what the word value means or you don't know what it means in this context or both. It is not a synonym for cheap. The article/study clearly delineates between the initial reasons why trading for return down...

How NFL teams ignore basic economics and draft players irrationally

No, it says that the best guy any given position will be in a lower round a certain percentage of the time. If you have X amount of picks in the lower round you will have a greater chance of hitting on him than taking the first round pick. This principle is also broadly statistically applicable...

Pats showing the most interest in Michael Sam

So the Pats might as well do what they want. There were reasons why the ND criticism carried weight that wouldn't be present in this situation as I just outlined. Afaict you are saying nothing here.

Pats showing the most interest in Michael Sam

The "critics" could say anything, it doesn't mean it will carry any weight if he has in fact been given a fair shot and the Pats went out of their way to draft him.

Pats showing the most interest in Michael Sam

No, it doesn't, because A) the Pats won't and B) Michael Sam is the first openly gay player in the NFL, Ty Willingham was not even close to the first black coach in CFB. ND was susceptible to an argument that they had actively avoided minority coaches and were grudgingly hiring Willingham to...

Pats showing the most interest in Michael Sam

iirc that was because he was given a noticeably shorter leash than any white coach with a comparable record before him at a school that had only ever hired white coaches in any sport, I don't think that's a good comparison here
  13. Wildo7

Would you want a 2008 Patriots or a 2011 Colts if Brady went down with an injury?

It's not a good comparison because when Peyton went down that was seen as the end of his era as a Colt. 2008 was seen as a hiatus in Brady's tenure. If Brady were to go down with a season ending injury in 2014 and you had a shot at Luck it would be completely lol to sacrifice the next however...

Would you want a 2008 Patriots or a 2011 Colts if Brady went down with an injury?

It depends entirely on the QB draft class, most of the time I'd tank it
  15. Wildo7

    Teddy Bridgewater's falling stock.

There's this implicit assumption that there's going to be a franchise QB waiting to be drafted by the Pats at the exact moment they happen to know Brady is about to be done. This seems very unrealistic to me and it also ignores the reality that there are years, sometimes multiple in a row where...

Pats showing the most interest in Michael Sam

So people are going to think that the team that drafted the openly gay player cut him because he was gay?
