Scalavino: BB will not name DC (or OC), will work closer with D

If Belichick does not feel that the offensive coaching staff is the problem, then he must have plans to upgrade the receiving corps, backfield and possibly the OL ..... Something needs to change.

    OT: Colts or Jets...?

J-E-T-S .... you know the rest. I detest Peyton and the Colts and their fans that much ... and I love their facial expressions when losing, especially at home.

OT: Ravens @ Colts game discussion (AFC Divisional Round)

Yeah, Myrtle Beach after next Sunday ....

    OT: Jets-Bengals Game Thread

I think I like this Jets team better than our Patriots team - they just bring back the memories of how the Patriots used to be ...

OT: Jets at Bengals - Who are you rooting for?

I want the Jets - we shouldn't feel threatened by them ever. Instead this would increase the AFC east competition and would help drive the Patriots harder. I also dislike the Bengals and their fans .....

If we win on Sunday, do we rest starters against Houston?

No. I don't think they will rest starters unless the game gets out of hand either way. The young players need all the playing time they can get (the young starters that is). As for the third or fourth seed, too much has yet to be determined and that will still be the case heading into the...

    Won't it be nice when...

This can be on the wish list I guess ...... But looking at your points, 1) We've lost some of these as of late ... 2) In years past, it seemed to matter playing in December. But starting off fast and then fading seems to be the way things are done with this team. 3) Snow? Won't be a...

BB: Saints are the best team in football

They might become a little complacent and have a let=-down, if they win at N.O. Remember Miami and Houston will be fighting tooth and nail for a WC spot. I think that with complacency will come more of the predictable play-calling on offense and defense which could lead to a defeat. This team...

BB: Saints are the best team in football

If the Patriots win this game it will be close and high scoring. But I think they will then drop a game (Miami or Houston come to mind). If they lose to N.O., then they will be determined to win out the rest of the way.

Moving on and foucs on a bye...

I think they will probably lose a close tough game in N.O. and will drop a game to either Miami or Houston, so 11-5 is most reasonable. I wouldn't write off Carolina or Jacksonville putting a scare either, but these should be wins for the Patriots.

    What if it happens again?

BB should opt out of a prevent-defense late in the game especially because it runs counter to actually getting tired defensive players off the field as quickly as possible. That and the offense needs to have its foot the gas pedal all the time, just like in '07 - this game is another reminder...
  12. D

Meriweather and Wilhite should have let Addai score

In the '03 game, obviously not, because there would not have been any time remaining to regain the lead and win with the offense. In order for the Colts to get into the red zone in that game on the last drive, they actually had to have a sustained drive from their side of the field ....

There's only one sane way to deal with this

As others have mentioned, this game needs to be laid to rest. A nice resounding win over the Jets will do wonders and 7-3 has a nice ring to it. Maybe the Saints game can be atonement ... another night game against a top team in their dome ... we'll see.
  14. D

If you could only watch ONE game this weekend on the Pats bye...

Because of the divisional interest, I would have to say Dolphins-Jets (hoping for a Jets loss). But if not for this interest, overall I would have to say Denver at Baltimore would intrigue me a lot more.

    Second Favorite Team

I've always liked the Denver Broncos because I've admired their ability to be the only team to beat the Patriots year in, year out. Now that I'm in ATL, I don't mind the falcons winning.
  16. D

Is it the coaching or the talent?

Well, with a subpar Brady, not playing to his potential, you can see that this is a team that is maybe just above-average in terms of overall quality. It is not playoff-caliber as things currently stand .... (or at least not a team that will go very far in the playoffs).

    The perfect pill

NE should draft a young franchise QB of its own with the 1st round (should be high) pick in 2011 and groom him behind Brady in his twilight years. They'll need this to compete with NY and Miami in the future.
  18. D

    The perfect pill

Brady should be able to get back on track against Miami, if against no other team. I think the Defense will figure out this wildcat scheme and shut it down. But Henne looks legitimate.
  19. D

    The perfect pill

Yes, it was good to see this, but - suddenly it looks like a 3-way race for the division.
  20. D

6-0 the rest of the way? Let's look at the signs.

In years past, Arizona might be considered soft but not this year. It is at home but still ..... I would say 3 tough games and 3 easier games (although Buffalo may be tight as well). Only because BB is the coach, does this team have a shot at 6-0, and also because Ariz. and Pitt. are at home...
