It actually seems to be pretty simple. And its directly from the mouths of players and agents, when every year people (mediots&fans) are surprised why top players take deals with bad teams.. Of the top 10 contracts in this FA, only 2 went to the playoffs teams and it was hardly for the ring...

He never had this kind of cap. (i actually do wonder what HE would do in this FA) He was the ultimate opportunist though so Dugger and Barmore would probably not be a slam dunk. Which is not necessary a bad thing.. Of course if one does zero on FA market and has a ton of cap - extending ones...

Its just about show me the money, ken. You know that. Except in very rare occasions or when the $ is equal. Where this team needs to be COMPETITIVE is offering the best deal to the players they want.

The #1 need was (over the last many years now) solid, above average, consistent, preferably tone-setting LT. They had every (and rare) opportunity last year in FA and this year in both FA (incl trade) & especially Draft (rarely deep LT class). Now its back to LT neverending tryout season...

This organization is just not into LTs : ) They said similar about Strange. Maybe now they can finally try him at LT. Why not. LT is a tryout position for years now in NE.. Dont let the fact of rarely deep quality LT class disturb the process..
