Campbell or Lomu can play guard. If Rizy makes it to the practice squad that’s a lot of good interior depth.

I view Lomu as a sixth man.

The OL has depth.

I think many of us mix depth and potential when it comes to young players
not that he will (I hope), but if Moses retired in August, is Lomu, Bryant or Crownover ready to take regular snaps week 1?
I question if any of them are
yet, I clearly see their potential down the road.

Nobody has depth going into camp if you start taking away players.

Those three are adequate depth. If Moses retires, which there is no indication he is, things change.

This is what good depth looks like.

Barring injury or total collapse by Campbell, Lomu will be the 6th man.

The point being if you have that many tackles on the roster, having guys who can play both OT and OG is why you don’t need more guard depth on the active roster.

Onwenu can play RT, Vera-Tucker can play some tackle… you just want the best 9-10 guys.

You largely know what you have as a team builder based on what you see and what the coaches are telling you. You can’t be scared to develop and move forward with the youth.

Bryant might be ready to take that RT job now, he had pretty good strength as a rookie, he must be stronger and better now.

Crownover might surprise. Lomu could probably play now. There’s a chance they have a tackle logjam by the end of preseason.

finger pointing is on another thread, but in the SB, the Seahawks were not guessing. they knew what was coming.

I think it's better to say the Seahawks dictated what would happen.

Bryant also stayed on the active roster all season… those roster spots are important. You don’t utilize them recklessly.

Coach Marrone preferred experience last season, this season Bryant has more experience and they let Mumford walk for nothing. You have to read the tea leaves.

One will be a developmental inactive RT. Of course, one of them could be ready enough to be our jumbo OT and therefore active.

Lomu is the backup at RT and LT. If there are 2 injuries at OT during a game, AVT would move to OT and Brown to LG.

We had Vederian Lowe blow and Corpse Moses held up all last season.

The good thing is they have multiple players who can play multiple positions (Campbell, Lomu, Brown, Wilson, Owenu, and Vera-Tucker who can play left or right guard). If they absolutely need to, they can mix and match players.

That is true, however, I would satisfied with one in each position that can be relied upon to do their job. We are a long way from knowing if that will come true.
