Additional FA Needs

I actually feel like Vrabel's going to look.in house. CJ Dippre is on the roster at TE and still have Westover for depth at TE.. the injury to Hill while unfortunate. Is a good thing in a sense for Raridon the Rookie will be pressed into the pros quickly and will be a factor for us. Still have a solid and reliable veteran In Henry

Yes, and Arkin. He is massive at 6'4" and 265.

Jonnu Smith is sounding better all the time. He's 1 year removed from a top-5 TE season 88/884/8.
I know it may have soured when he left here, but that was the bitter end of BB"s tenure & freaking Mac Jones & Zappe.
This would be very different, and we have to have production ready behind Henry.
For a low money flier I'd be ok giving it another go. I will say though, we can blame BB/Mac/Zappe but it didn't worth with him while Josh was here that first year and we made the playoffs. We weren't some toxic situation for him in year 1 and he didn't take well to it. Particularly relevant because Josh was here and he's the OC again now.

Definitely a better spot now with Drake and better WRs and it should be low money so no real risk. That's why I'd be on board. But I don't think his bad time here could be totally written off as not relevant anymore either.

Yes, this is a good idea for a 1-year #2 TE. Hill is gone and Smith is a reasonable replacement/upgrade.

Vrabel seems more likely to expect Raridon and Dippre to be the backups.

We need a backup C/G, and ILB an EDGE rusher. If Landry is healthy, EDGE is the lowest priority of the three. If he is not, it is the highest proity.

Yep; our front orifice should've signed a vet Center with starting experience as soon as Bradbury was traded... If both Landry and Jacass have to start the season on PUP, then all of a sudden it's DM Jones and whatever 2nd-year "leaps" Ponder & Swinson have to offer
And regarding ILB, I'm willing to see what shakes-out among Britt / Gainer / Jacobs / Muma / Obiazor / Reese before adding another body to the mix - unless that body is Bobby Wagner's, or Bobby Okereke's...

Besides C/G & ED, other positions in need of Quality depth (i.e.: of UFA signings) include:

TE to replace Hill; Will Dissly, if he's cleared to play (which should be no problem with our (on-)crack medical staph), should be Plan A.

RB if Larison doesn't show enough during camp/scrimmages/games... Don't like Any of Jennings, Miller or Montgomery - al all.
Damn shame what happened to Gibson last year

Slot Receiver, either from inside the building (Pop, Chism) or outside it if necessary.

Still haven't replaced Tonga's presence at the 0/1-Tech position. The agents for DaQuan Jones, Greg Gaines & Foley Fatukasi (if shoulder's healthy), among others, All need to be given ringy-dingys... The two biggest players currently in the building are Eric Gregory & Travis Shaw; and Shaw's not making the 53 except through a Clown decision. Everybody else is closer to 3-Tech/3-4 DE than to the 0/1-Tech NT we need, although Barmore might be eating his way in that direction...

And as mentioned in a previous thread, our backups and potential backups to our 5 starters in the defensive backfield are the Worst in Football. The. Worst. MULTIPLE veteran DBs, at least one each for the deep half, the boundaries & the slot, should've been signed Already.

If both Landry and Jacas start on PUP, I think it very likely that we would acquire another backup. I would also expect Jones and Ponder to likely get almost all the reps, depending on the addition.

Oh you poor, poor baby. A woman verbally assaulted you and you need therapy to recover. But here is the thing...YOU ARE A LIAR. You refuse to acknowledge what was actually said. My point during the draft was that we had Henry, Hill and his new contract, Gilliam and his new contract, Westover, and Dippre. There was only room at that time for 1 TE pick. Your idiotic claim was that the Pats would pick 2. I told you it was not going to happen, and I was right. I WAS RIGHT.

The discussion was never about if the Pats should pick a second TE in the draft. It was weather or not if they would, and I told you they would NOT and why. You were too stupid to get it.

There were no TEs after the 3rd round that were valuable enough to use a pick on with out positions of need. Hill went down after the draft. He is a blocker. Westover, Dippre, and Tanner Arkin are also blockers. Your idiocy would have had us spending a 4th rounder on yet another blocking TE??? Seriously? Here are the TEs picked after Reardon:

Matthew Hibner: Grade 51
Justin Joly: Grade 74
Max Bredeson: Grade 43
Tanner Koziol: Grade 47
Riley Nowakowski: 52
Joe Royer: 61
Josh Cuevas: Grade 57
Seydou Traore: Grade 39
Bauer Sharp: Grade 43
Jack Endries: Grade 65
Jaren Kanak: Grade 43
Carsen Ryan: Grade 37

The one fun pick would have been Joly, but he is undersized and cannot block. Not a single one of these guys helps our roster no matter how big on a tantrum you throw.

What the Pats did was waited until the daft was over and signed blocking depth in Tanner Arkin, who is 6' 4", 265 lbs and a blocking machine. He will need to develop and beat out Dippre. So no, your draft idiocy still makes no sense.
This is a lot of unnecessary words nobody is going to read, you could have just said “I was wrong, you were right.”

That would have been sufficient…

You realize Wilson played center full time in college… right?

They also have Ben Brown.

I heard Jacas contracted Ebola, he’s dead. Landry had his leg amputated, his career is over.
And regarding ILB, I'm willing to see what shakes-out among Britt / Gainer / Jacobs / Muma / Obiazor / Reese before adding another body to the mix - unless that body is Bobby Wagner's, or Bobby Okereke's...
Wagner and Okereke aren’t signing to join a mix, they want starter money and want to play. So there would have to be total calamity and injury before this happened.

They probably need another body for camp, unfortunately it’s slim pickings.

Why? Jam Miller and Montgomery are talented, arguably more than Larison. Larison hasn’t done sht yet except get hurt. I get some like the idea of a white RB but good grief. Larison got the nod in OTA’s because he’s technically the “vet,” but he’s no lock. Whoever returns kickoffs, plays special teams best and can pass block will earn that third spot.

Agreed, already said a couple of times if healthy and he can pass a mental health exam Christian Wilkins should be considered.

They brought in a bunch of talented CB’s… Schooler might get some more reps at safety. I’m not sure Vrabel agrees with a dedicated special teams ace who doesn’t nothing else. Schooler is a great athlete.

I already said that, and you still won't stop whining. I actually predicted that you would ghost me when I was right. I was right about that too. You refused to reply. lol. I am sorry reading is so tough for you.

Ghost you? I’m right here, there’s nothing to answer.

Either you are dishonest or have Alzheimers. Or both. You know for a fact that you refused to reply to me in the draft thread when we didn't get a 2nd TE. I kept calling you out and you refused to reply. And then you just start whining in this thread. Its just what you do.

You wanted an alternative TE later?

Easy, but I’ll make it doubly easy… Quintayvious Hutchins is hot garbage. Terrible draft pick in the 7th and that was before he got arrested for domestic violence.

They could have taken TE Dallen Bentley a few picks later by Denver. See how simple that was…

Your posting, Quintayvious Hutchins, and Dallen Bentley are all hot garbage.

This you?

Solid take…
Not directing it at the poster you are responding to, but a lot of posters want to forget that off-season like it never happened and are all on the bandwagon now.

Too many posters here are reactionary and wait for the other posters, media or PFF to tell them what to think.

Here's just some of my receipts. And yes....I'm aware you bet on them to win the AFC.

He's^ way better than the Miami guy on IR: who we wasted FA $$$$ on. The Rams have like 15 TE's.
Very different playing styles. I still like Hill, no way to know he would be injured so can’t blame the team for wasting FA $$$ on him.

But I would be okay seeing the Pats get Parkinson. Stoves a problem this year, lines up Hunter’s replacement for next year. Having Parkinson, Hill, and Raridon for the 2027 season looks okay to me.

Do the Rams need a WR? Would you trade Boutte for him?
