Celtics 2025-2026 Discussion

The Spurs have done a very good job of being historically bad precisely the year before a generational talent is available in the draft. What about the lottery?
They weren't favored to win any of them. I'm not sure how the lottery worked in 1987. It was probably same as the Ewing draft "cough" "cough" envelopes.

If you go back through the entire history of the NBA, both regular and postseason, and choose any 11 game stretch, no team has come close to the Knicks point differential over their 11 game playoff stretch.

That’s some bad **** crazy stuff.

This Knicks team is good, but they are playing like six levels above themselves right now. They’re a pretty standard non-elite playoff team that is somehow playing at an elite level, never touched before by any team in league history.

In reality, their normal game is about equal to the Celtics, may be slightly better than the Cavs.

I’m kind of just scratching my head. The Pacers insane last minute point comebacks last postseason comes to mind as another monster WTF outlier like this.

KAT is going to foul out (ok, a little hyperbole) every game against Wemby or Wemby will average 40 and 20. My guess is Robinson gets A LOT or minutes this series.
Brunson won't be able to do his thing against the many quality guards of the Spurs that can switch on him and can guard him one on one. He'll try to get some foul calls as they'll be in his grill.
It's a good matchup but I think San Antonio takes this series easily. They have the best player in the world right now.
5 games.

Hope so.

In the regular season / Play In, the Knicks matched up well against the Spurs.

Spurs went from -230 to -180 in betting odds.

I think the Knicks will win the series. Not just a game one overreaction. They match up well with the spurs and they’re playing really well. I think the thunder would’ve beaten them because they would have slowed down Brunson that said I do think the Spurs still have a pretty good chance but I just think the Knicks are stronger in the series.

KAT sucks on defense, but he’s actually decent against Wemby since Wemby isn’t a very physical offensive player.

Brunson is like automatic in the last few minutes of the game. Every game when it’s close, he seems to hit like all of his shots. It is kind of insane that he continues to do this.

Other than Champagnie, the Spurs shot 6-33 (18%) from 3. It's like watching the C's. I doubt they shoot that badly again. I see a blowout in game 2 and then we'll see how they deal playing in NY. They did beat OKC. That was supposedly the "NBA Finals". I still think Spurs win the series but I called it in 5 games. Tall task now.

Final score doesn’t reflect how great that game was to watch though. Exciting series.
