Slipping on an icy sidewalk on your way to work, falling in muddy water and having to wear stained clothes all day. Then slipping on a different spot on the same sidewalk on your way to work the next day and breaking your wrist, preventing you from working for two months and forcing you to think of falling in the puddle as “the good old days.”
 
I envision starting a new season for a Jete fan is like being the waste tank on Cousin Eddie's RV. Sometimes it's **** right out of the gate and sometimes it begins about as well as things can be considering what you are but without fail come December...

Jest's fans are that wealthy (big market) but ugly delusional girl you went to school with. She had an outsized ego because nobody ever told her she was ugly, and she was spoiled so she thought she was a princess.

She could never figure out why the boys didn't like her because she had so much going for her, especially after her nose job... and all her friends liked riding in her expensive car and playing with her expensive toys.

So she thought her aura was just too intimidating, and better than she actually was because her friends (fans) kept enabling her... but it always ended at home alone in tears.
 
Before I opened the thread, just having read the title, my first thought was......

Like being on the Apollo 11 [edit thx @maust 13 ] mission,..... but Houston doesnt have a solution; and you just orbit the earth .... FOREVAAAAH.

I’d say the entire Apollo 11 mission is pretty apt “as is”.

Your goal is to get to the moon. You never do. But you live and are then destined to die never to get there. Year after year of ‘non moon landing’ living.
 
Historically bad franchise. The worst in all sports.

Their QB situation and coaching last year--half have been upgraded, some like Dunbar, their new DL position coach, and Reich, their new OC, in a BIG way--were abysmal.

I admit I was wrong about Justin Fields last preseason. Couldn't throw. Didn't want to take off and run.

But their new GM is winning over a lot of nfl insiders. Darren Mougey to the rescue?

Three firsts next year.

Looks as though they already hit rock bottom.

Oh Yee of LITTLE Faith,..... This is the Jete we are talking about. ..... There is no bottom, only surprisingly worse.

It’s only going to get worse from here for Jete fans. They haven’t hit rock bottom because for the Jete that’s an endless pit that gets lower and lower
