How Drake Has been Supported this Offseason!

Great post Real Fan! I would've liked to have seen if Pierce made it to FA. If I had to chose, I'd rather sign Pierce than Doubs. Doubs has shown flashes, but has disappointed after he roasted Stephon Gilmore in the 2023 Wild Card game. I thought that game was going to be his coming out party going forward.

I don't feel comfortable with Wilson at C at all, but Lindenbaum was way overpaid.

Pats needed better blocking at TE and hopefully they got it with the FA and draft pick.

AVT at G is better than nothing, but his injury history scares me. If he goes down, Pats are in trouble.

Taking a T in the 1st round was the right thing to do.

Defense is pretty much the same aside from Byard, Jones and Jacas being the most significant additions.
Thank you Rain. You're illustrious post and expertise is always gladly appreciated brother! Yeah.. we all as fans understand that last season was the setting of the culture and we got an immense lift by winning and getting immediate buy-in from guys. Wilson was actually starting at C last training camp early on and I remember following some coverage of camp from Paul perillo and it was questions about Bradbury as Wilson was getting snaps over him. Moving Bradbury was the right thing he was solid last season but nothing particularly special. I believe Wilson will be better in his more natural position.

I don't think Vrabel's going to leave himself thin at OG knowing AVTs injury history. AVT has said he's 100% healthy and has gotten with the teams staff on some training regime different than what he's said he's down before. Who knows coming from that Jets stench right? Players could have faked injuries not to have to play.

Yes. T tackle was the way to go.. as Cowden said recently having to many OL is a good problem for a team to have. Your right Linderbaum was vastly overpaid for a C who vastly benefits from Lamar and Henry.

Pass rush, pass rush, pass rush I cannot state this enough. It helps the offense and allows guys on defense to be fresher late in games when you need that burst you had in the first quarter to make a play on 3rd down. We lacked in pressure, sacks and turn overs wich should vastly improve with the added edge rush and the addition of Byard at FS and our excellent CBs. On Doubs he was in a deep wr room so he likely wasn't going to be say a 1,200 wr guy in that GB offense. He will have better opportunities here in a very multiple offense with AJ taking attention and Doubs can then eat up 2nd and 3rd DBs. His route running is supreme and he can beat man coverage something our WRs in the post season couldn't do!

I believe initially Schweitzer was pegged as the starting LG, until he abruptly retired in camp.

Actually it was cole strange who initially was the starter at LG entering camp and at the start of camp. From what I remember it was
LT Campbell
LG strange
C Wilson/Bradbury
RG Owen
RT Moses.

Strange completely was getting beat and Wilson was holding up well at C.. Bradbury being he was a veteran and was brought in to help stabilize the line and be a culture fit.. was given the starter wich was sensible at the time.

What's the difference between Edelman's team leading 850 yards when they won the Super Bowl in 2018, versus Jakobi Meyers 866 team leading yards when they won 8 games? Oh yeah, the team was better in 2018.

Also Julian Edelman is a #1 WR now? We really have to define what that is exactly. Somebody has to lead the team in receiving.

But hey... imagine what AJ Brown is going to do with Drake. Should be explosive.
What about your fave binkie Doubs? Remember when you told us that the Pats were all set with starters? Dont need no more you said. We got Doubs.

Ozzy, your whole rant about JSN and Diggs is comical. For beginners, Gonzo took out JSN in the SB. How many teams have a Gonzo type player? A few do thats who. Thats the whole reason why LAR traded with KC and paid a fortune to Trent McDuffie who is now the highest paid CB in the NFL. Also, clamping down on JSN just made Darnold look to other WRs like Kupp and Barner. Walker ran all day for better than 4 ypc.

Diggs had a bad game because Maye was running for his life. Still, Diggs drew coverage so other WRs would have opportunities, but they didnt show up either. Hollins late with 12 minutes left down 19 - 0.

Predraft I said repeatedly AJ Brown was coming to NE, and if he wasn’t they had to draft a WR. I couldn’t have been more clear and you were involved in these threads so you knew my position.

That being said, if they back out of the AJ Brown trade they’ve brought in many talented UDFA WR’s, so health provided they will likely win the AFCEast again. Diggs at 33 is not a WR1, whatever that is… you seem to have a problem defining what one is.

But but you told us WR1 was crucial to winning. If JSN and Diggs were both shutdown in the SB, how important can they really be?

The reality is five or so good WR’s who provided versatility and the ability to play all corners of the field is more important than one superstar. The Pats never had a superstar WR when they won rings. Edelman was a slot WR, so was Troy Brown… give us a break. Jules wasn’t Calvin Johnson.

Doesn’t make sense… you said a WR1 changes everything. Seems offensive line and blocking is substantially more important.

You said the Pats were all set at starters before the draft.

There was NO mention of AB Brown.

HAHAHA

Who are these UDFA WRs? Chism and his youtube highlights.

Look at the 2026 schedule and youll notice something different.

Its 2026.

Long ago the Pats had Brady.

Long ago the Pats had better OL.

“I have the draft needs as: OT, TE, WR (barring AJ Brown Trade), OG, CB.” - Wozzy, April 11th

Which positions would help improve the 2026 playoff chances most?

And again… you were involved with this thread. So stop lying.
Who are these UDFA WRs? Chism and his youtube highlights.
Do your own homework, there’s threads dedicated to the subject. Welker, Amendola, Patten, Rod Smith, Adam Thielen… plenty of good WR’s come from the undrafted ranks.

What I said in 2025 before the season began…

Long ago the Pats had Brady.

Long ago the Pats had better OL.
The 2025 Pats made the Super Bowl with Drake Maye, the second youngest QB in history to do so.

Stop living in the past, and learn the game.
