PATRIOTS NEWS Reiss: Vrabel will not be present day 3 of draft

Breaking New England Patriots Team News
This gets him out of having to get in front of the press for anything until training camp. It's hard not to see it as the reason (or a significant reason) for the decision.
As you pointed out a few posts after this one, if the questions are all about Vrabel, it isn't fair to the players that are drafted, so Wolf will be the one speaking this weekend.

So why could they not simply have Vrabel be here on Saturday and have someone else speak, citing the desire to focus on the players? You can just ignore any question not about a specific player, or have someone else do the press conferences entirely. That's why I don't see him leaving as any kind of cover from the media, but rather about trying to save his family.

There's zero difference between Vrabel being present tomorrow and having Wolf do the press conference, and him being gone tomorrow and having Wolf do the press conference.

Because it’s not about football. It’s about saving Vrabel’s marriage.

It has nothing to do with him speaking to the media, it is all about him speaking to his wife.

We're in complete agreement. I never understood the stance of it being only to avoid the media, as if he needs to be in another state to do that. Just don't go down the hall and talk to them. Problem solved.

I'd rather have this than a coach busted for racist screeds.
What are you talking about?

Racist Screeds?

You talking about the Southern Poverty Law Center paying White Supremacists to show up, so they could report on White on Black racism?

I said positive things about Mike's crisis management squad, but here's SI's take:

College professors could literally teach a PR class on the Dianna Russini-Mike Vrabel scandal.
College professors - LOL. That is what I do when I am seeking advice - go ask a college professor.

I was thinking John Gruden. But regarding the Southern Poverty Law Center, let's see how that plays out. They claim they were paying informants.

They were paying the leaders of the group to show up. They were not paying informants

That’s my last comment on the issue in respect of Ian’s no politics rule
