Never - not once - did I say I had proof. I have drawn my conclusion based on the preponderance of evidence out there.

Reasonable minds may disagree but your routine that I am just pulling this all out of thin air without any real evidence whatsoever is weaksauce.

In this case you feel comfortable jumping from the realm of supposition to the realm of conclusion.

Some times I do too, but not in this case.

I am still open to the possibility that our head coach is telling us the truth when he said that this was a "completely innocent interaction".

You've blown right past that.

As you say, reasonable minds can disagree.

I have drawn a logical conclusion based on the available facts. I am not exactly out on a limb as the overwhelming public consensus has drawn the same conclusion.

If you wish to keep your head in the sand with your childlike hero worship that our guys can do no wrong, that’s your choice.

Bob Kraft set Mayo up to fail.

Puny spending in FA.
5hit draft besides Maye.
Owner, GM and HC agreed that Brissett would start, he lasted 5 games 1 - 4.

2025 was 180 degrees different than the way Mayo was supported and it translated into wins.
I agree but it doesn't change the fact that Mayo wasn't ready yet and was in over his head. A few years more of being a DC here or somewhere else would've prepared him better.
I still dont know if he would be even a mediocre HC if that happened.
But Kraft did him no favors

Dude.. its gossip. Who the **** cares?
Jeezus.

Josh McDaniels be like.....

Again, you and your conclusions.

I'm not saying he did no wrong, I am saying I am open to the possibility that he did no wrong.

You have concluded otherwise.

That's your metaphorical hill, enjoy dying on it.

Kraft knew that when he gave Mayo the HC job before the first interview of other candidates.

Therefore, Kraft cannot plead ignorance. He can plead insanity. Kraft's reasoning for giving Mayo the job is bizzare. Its as if Kraft had a chauffer and Kraft thought the guy drives real good so he asks him to be his driver in the NASCAR team he is forming.

Hard to guess. Mayo doesnt have a fiery personality and always seemed mild mannered. Sometimes a guy like that does well in leadership positions.

Nope, IIRC Kraft kept some of BBs coaches because he was already paying them.

Bottom line is if Kraft was inducted into the HOF, Mayo would still have his job in 2025 and the poor 2024 season chocked up to a learning year. BB went 5 - 11 his first season as NEP HC. Kraft tried to bad mouth Mayo via the media and Mayo and his wife threatened to blow the lid of what actually went down between Kraft and Mayo.

You did not hear a peep about Mayo after that and thats all I need to know.

Don’t hold your breath.

The problem is that he announced he was going to make a change at RB that morning, only for Stevenson to start anyways. He then tried to deflect by calling Stevenson a "coach's decision," which is utterly absurd.
In a season full of erratic decisions, benching Stevenson is miniscule.

Its obvious that Stevenson was not going anywhere after signing a contract with 17 million in guaranteed money in June and its also clear that his fumbling cant continue.

Kraft is why Mayo was too clueless to realize which way the wind was blowing and opted to kick into the wind?

Kraft screwed up by believing Mayo when he whispered in his ear that he could do a better job. The guy had never even been a coordinator.

Mayo stunk at the job, they couldn’t get away from the mistake fast enough. Vrabel was available to hire in 2024, credit to Bob or Jonathan for fixing the mistake.

There are basically only three explanations for how Stevenson started after Mayo said he wouldn't:
1. Mayo didn't mean it, and just blurted it out for some stupid reason. [This despite the fact that he made numerous claims that he had to walk back over the course of the season.]
2. He really did want to bench Stevenson but forgot to tell his assistants.
3. Worst, he did tell them, and they ignored him.

All three indicate that Kraft's faith that Mayo could become the leader the team needed was misplaced.

Bob fell into the young coaching trap and thought Mayo was that next guy for whatever reason. The first clue Bob should've taken seriously was that BB did not endorse the decision to name Mayo as successor.

I do think if Vrabel was fired in 2023 then Bob wouldn't have panicked with Mayo.

If Kraft made it into the HOF there is no way that Mayo loses his job.

Thats a fact.

Nah. Mayo was really embarrassing for the Patriots franchise and arguably one of the worst HC's in the last 25 years or even of all time. Bob knew it was a massive mistake, yet he still couldn't make up his mind until later in the season. Regardless of how the 2025 season turned out with Vrabel, cutting ties with Mayo was the right move.

I also think Bob told Mayo week 18 was his last game which was another massive mistake. Mayo would've dropped that game with ease had he thought his job was safe.

Bob listened to far too many people sneaking up the backstairs to his office, listened to Mayo and Mac… both were not worth listening too.

Mayo was a disaster, the fanbase noticed first, the media caught up…. per usual.
The media was walking a fine line as they initially wanted him fired along with BB not knowing he was actually the HC in waiting to replace BB. But as soon as he was hired, the media suddenly flipped a 180 and kissed up to him. The other reason is that they were too scared to question his hire as they'd look racist. Many in the media are reactionary to what the fans are thinking. In fact, I think the Boston media gets a lot of their material from this message board. I've seen the media way late to the party brining up stuff we've been talking about for months.

I was bored so I opened this thread, and also asked Goggle AI what Vrabel is accused of doing.

Please correct if I am wrong. I didn't spend much time.

It seems that, at worst, Vrabel was having a consensual affair with a married women (Vrabel is also married).

Shall we force her to wear a scarlet "A" and for both to apologize to their spouses on an ESPN special?
