Russini & Vrabel Nothing to see here?

Ok, here's the source of the pictures, tell us their value as evidence.

if i am on a romantic getaway with any female, sidepiece or not, i'm not casually sitting across the hot tub, just saying

The idea that a group of three 30yo+ female friends meet up to go hiking as a girls trip, and don't take a load of sylish selfies and photos, either to share between themselves or on social media somewhat amuses me.
It is quite conspicuous in its absence….

Here we go. Another thread taken over by the BB haters. I have no idea how BB hurt these people so badly.
My original comment actually pointed out that BB had not allowed Jordon to be a media distraction in New England during 2022 and 2023. That comment got turned into something else.
There's little defending how Belichick carried himself in Chapel Hill. It was a distraction in the building and in the media. However, that's between him and UNC, but no rational person can defend it.
While, he might have made some bad personnel decisions in New England at the end, they were football mistakes that don't tarnish his greatness as an NFL head coach.
I don't post out here as often as I used to. But now I see that it's not possible even to mention Belichick without triggering some folks. I won't do that again.

Why would you sit at home like a human pinata until your contract expires.
Agree and with kids and a husband/marriage she still wants (assumption) I might do the same thing. However, she would take the arrows if proof of her innocence was out there.....which I don't think exists.

Literally the same value as any photos. Are they authentic? Yes, there’s no dispute. Who cares who actually took them.

I do. A scandal platform like Page Six is all about being conservative with the truth. As for evidence, if they were offered as evidence that then brings discovery into play, therefore the photographer and the reporter get interviewed and the reputation of the media outfit comes into play too, literally the same as any photographic evidence.

What do they prove? That’s a different question. But given that you can’t record people in private places, this is pretty close to “proof.” Really the only thing that would top it is actually kissing in public.

Damn, that means my elderly aunt is an adulterer too, because the way she greets people is with a kiss!

Sorry, auntie, time for you to put on the Scarlet Letter!

I think her professional colleagues are keeping the fires going not because of infidelity but because of access to Vrabel.

Yes, also wasn’t he cheating on his wife with Linda? Then years later he cheats on Linda with the cheerleader. There are stories of Bill sleeping with a woman when he was the DC for the Giants. Bill could’ve been in the CIA because he sure was good at not letting the stories get out of control.
Yep. Anyone who has a problem with Vrabel allegedly cheating on his wife with Russini surely must has a problem with Bill who did the same and many times. Right?

If there's a video out there that can almost definitively say that the two of them shouldn't have been there I'm sure it will be released at some point. There has to be.

Still photos don't always tell the right story. I mean like I said before...

Everyone understands this photo and history.

Yea. Ian Rappaport retweeted her statement. To me, Schefter has stayed kinda neutral.

So, by the standards of some here... if you have an attractive female friend...

You can't touch them in non-intimate ways. God help you if you even think of touching them at all.

You can't share a pool, separated by distance, surrounded by other people. May you hope to die if she's wearing anything other than a nun's habit.

Because that is ALL the evidence we have here.

Come to think of it, it sounds more and more like men and women can't be friends.

All that, plus once you end up in a place where you decide your only way to dodge the resulting ****-storm is to resign from a well-paying job, you then read how it's the liberals who are all about cancel culture.

'Masturbatory glee?' There are people here who find this story interesting, people who find it irrelevant, people who find it sad, people somewhere in between. You’ve replaced that with a caricature that lets you grandstand, but has very little to do with what’s actually being said.

You invented a false narrative of this thread that conveniently matches your predetermined contempt for it, because engaging with what people are actually saying would be incompatible with the little performance you came here to give.

You seem to be participating in the very gossip you bemoan: assigning motives, inventing emotional states, broadcasting judgment. You are engaging in the very dynamic you condemn.
I have offered no gossip; I have offered criticism, condemnation. Condemnation, of course, can be either worthy or not depending on whether that condemnation is justified or unjustified. The sort of performative blither and sanctimonious blather in this thread is rightly to be condemned in my judgment. It is a pose, not a position, an affectation of moral outrage disguising a pathetic need for a self-pleasing posture of moral superiority. My masturbatory metaphor is entirely apt.

I am going to do you the honor of assuming that you are not so stupid as to confuse the two, accusing you only of intellectual dishonesty in the service of a silly and meretricious - one is tempted to say yet again onanistic - rhetorical trope.

You can post about BB. Just post about BB in the BB thread.

People are crying about a double standard as if it is a man vs. woman punishment. Russini wasn't forced to resign because she is a woman and Vrabel isn't going to survive this unscathed because he is a man.

Russini was forced to resign because she is a journalist and she is required to have boundaries with her sources and subjects of her reporting. She allegedly violated a journalistic ethical standard.

A head coach has no ethical standard. He might have an ethical standard not to have a romantic relationship with a Patriots' employee (which players all over the league violate by dating cheerleaders and other employees under the radar) or members of an opposing team. But I don't think Vrabel has any ethical standard not to be in a romantic relationship with a reporter.

The fact is many sports journalists violate their ethical standards by developing close friendships with players and coaches. It definitely affects their reporting. If there is a sexist double standard, it is there. I am not sure there is a huge difference between Russini having a romantic relationship with Vrabel and someone like Dan Orlovsky having a close friendship with Matthew Stafford where they spend a lot of time together purely as friends when it comes to journalistic standards. Orlovsky voted for Stafford for MVP where it seems pretty clear his friendship played a significant role in his vote. Moral standards, there is a huge divide, but ethical standards.
