Russini & Vrabel Nothing to see here?

Is this a BB thread? Simple question. Most posters would agree and apologize for derailing (accidentally?) the thread. Not Tunescribe - he gets defensive.

You're a hoot.

I did it. I have friends that did it. You are the one living on Mars. It happens thousands a time a year in MA.
ohhhhhhhhhhh.... well you have friends who did it!! I guess that makes you an expert about what Vrabel will go through IF it happens to him!!!

How many of your friends were public figures and multi millionaires in ultra-high-profile jobs who were married for 25+ years and got caught cheating by a newspaper?

You don't have the first clue what you are talking about and you don't have the first clue what Vrabel will be going through IF this is the road he has to go down.

Now we are into prepositions in BOLD, so I must be wrong. You are right. IF only I had a clue. IF only I had any life experiences. Too funny.

Now we are into prepositions in BOLD,
I am making it clear that I have no idea whatsoever whether or not the Vrabel's are headed towards a divorce and I have heard nothing suggesting they are. Hence my capital I-F "IF".

Why this particular word triggered you remains as yet a mystery.

I notice you didn't answer my question though. Which, of course, is all the answer I need. You don't have the first clue what you are talking about and you have proven so.

The back and forth went on long enough. Time to move on. You win. I lose. Have a great week.

Probably nothing but Mike might have some explaning to do with the Mrs at home. Their initial explanation is that it was a chance encounter and they were at seperate hotels. Need Vrabs full attention this season. He does not need a new tight end!

Oh there's plenty to see here...

This mother****er dares - ****ing DARES - chastise the righteousness of TreVeyon Henderson?!?

****ing hypocrite. Gutless, too, towing the 'TardShield party line...

I hope the wife gets everything.

Any sexisim aside, there's a conflict of interest for her as a supposed unbiased reporter, given that she's supposed to fairly cover all teams

Neither the Patriots nor Washington has any such obligation. Owners can question whether they've divulged any confidential info to her - but they can do that with someone they have no relationship with too.

Heck if anything Vrabel may have gotten some inside intel FROM her that helps the Pats - hence her investigation
She reminds me of the reporter in the movie "Three Kings" who bangs George Clooney's character to get a story.

When was the last time you went to a party? I wonder if everyone left depressed.

Imagine if she loses both her career and her marriage over this. Pretty steep price for a "fling" at age 43.
The career? Yes, potentially. Although as a fairly high-profile reporter (within the industry in which she works, at least), I would be curious what her career earnings are thus far (which is very different than what she has saved, of course). And, given that (somewhat) high-profile, such an affair might not be a career-killing deathknell (as you yourself mentioned in another post).

Her marriage? If you're cheating on your marriage at the age of 40+, I'd tend to think you really don't value that marriage, in which case not much has been lost. Or, she has the emotional intelligence/maturity of an adolescent/young adult insofar as her inability to consider the longterm outcome of her choices and how those will impact her future life and happiness.

Of course, impulsive decisions leading to cheating/affairs are not always (or rarely, even) thought through in a deliberate, careful manner, so perhaps attempting to analyze the behavior as if it was, is approaching the topic from a fundamentally flawed perspective.

At the risk of making this about myself, I actually had a recent encounter that made me think about cheating a bit more. I'm 31, never been married, had a handful of hookups throughout undergrad, but only seriously dated two people for an extended period of time (3-4+ months) during my life. My current girlfriend is the polar opposite of my previous. First girl I dated was sociopolitically conservative (which was the cause of a lot of tension and ultimately the end of our relationship), but incredibly gentle, kind, easygoing. My current girlfriend and I are politically aligned, but she's a radically different person: feisty, high-strung, at times intense/loud, but also very independent and highly driven - she also has a child from a previous relationship, so the experience of becoming a dad to her son has been truly special, but that's neither here nor there.

At any rate, back to the cheating stuff, I've seen the woman who cuts my hair on several occasions. The first time I ever saw her, I completely accidentally bumped her butt with my hand as I was sitting down in the chair and she seemed to notice. Following that appointment, she texted me from her cell # recommending certain product for my hair, which I took as a rather personal gesture and made me wonder if she thought the butt-touch was a deliberate attempt to show interest. She is young, attractive, and I'd absolutely be interested in her if I was single, but again, it was an accidental bump. Many months go by, this hairdresser leaves her previous studio and I can't find her to book an appt, so I get my hair cut elsewhere and then let it grow quite long.

Recently, I managed to track her down, and she's now running her own independent operation out of a private studio. I booked an appointment and when I show up, she is talkative, bouncy, excited to see me. As she's cutting my hair, she's leaning forward such that her breasts are pressing against the back of my head/neck. It was both pleasurable and exciting - I hadn't felt a spark like that in a long, long time. In that moment, it totally clicked in my mind how people could find themselves in such situations and impulsively go for it, for lack of a better term. People don't cheat because of some well-deliberated, carefully thought-out calculus - it's because it's exciting and spontaneous, and that very much explains why people will (sometimes) cheat with individuals considerably less attractive than their current partner - it's about the novelty and spark.

Nothing happened between the two of us - she finished my haircut and we moved along. And with some time to reflect on that encounter and my current relationship, I am very glad I did not pursue anything further.

Someone doesn't know when a service person is looking for a big tip.

So, their passionate affair consists of holding hands briefly and sitting in a pool nowhere near each other in full view of a group of people. Sizzling stuff, guys.

To be fair, that's how my passionate affairs go too...

After that, who knows what will happen in her career…. She may latch on to some talking head show or something like that…

It's the latching on that is causing her problems...

I don't know what's going on here (beyond, the usual "smoke" and "fire" connections), but I do know that Vrabel now no longer has the credibility to tell his players not to "create distractions" off the field. That's, at best, "not a good thing."

Yet as you suggest all we have is smoke, and not fire.

Bottom line? Whatever may or may not have happened, this is not helpful. At least BB waited until he left the Pats before he made a circus of his private life with, in his case, someone young enough to be his granddaughter.

Again, facts not in evidence...

That's one of the things that I am afraid of. If they decide to get divorced they have to legally separate. I can't imagine a situation where he stays in the current residence if she wants to be the one to stay there. It is all a huge hassle and distraction that we just don't need.

Again, assuming facts not in evidence.

We have no idea of the state or the nature of their relationship. An example: in F1 racing a married team manager got accused by a young female co-worker of inappropriate behavior. The husband denied all allegations. The wife chose to 'stand by her man', for various reasons. As far as we now know, they got past it all because they are still married and still make appearances together. This could be how this plays out.

Keep in mind that Vrabel has been a public figure his entire adult life. In particular, he was both a college star and a NFL player in Pittsburgh before he got married, and as we all know he played here in the glory years, was HC of TEN, and now HC of NE. I can imagine his wife understands he interacts with other females, including socializing with them. She may chose to believe him, since ya know, some times people do trust each other. Or she may have her suspicions but let this thing whole thing blow over, for all kinds of different reasons. And yes, she may go Scorched Earth, but again, we have no read on if that may happen, or when it may happen, etc.

We have not heard a peep.

My guess is that there'll be nothing, the draft will happen, real NFL news will overwrite much of this; eventually Vrabel will have a conference and will be asked about this and he will have a reaction something along the lines of "IDK what you're talking about, there's no issue here, nothing happened. No reason to even comment on this." Time passes and nothing happens, no divorce as so many are jumping to assume is an inevitability.

On Russini's side, I could see her outlet letting her contract expire in 3 months' time just so they can look virtuous but she will end up getting picked up by some other big outlet shortly afterward and things will move right along.
