Celtics 2025-2026 Discussion

I don't. I think he proved in the previous few games he is physically back to form...but the achilles. I'd still rather be safe then sorry. The Pelicans? Srsly? I prefer to sit him.

EDIT: looks like I got my wish
It is a close game. Might need Tatum in Q4

Celtics clinched the 2 seed and have a week off. Vucevic looks much better. I like this team. I think they will do well due to maturity and chemistry.

This is a little unusual. I thought the C's were like, $1.00 under the whatever apron they needed to be under.
Is there another move coming, like bye-bye Shulga or Tonje? They are at 15 player roster now.
It doesn't matter as long as it doesn't effect the cap heading into next year. I know Brad knows his sh!t so....

There was a strange call last night and after re-watching it again this morning, I'm still wondering what the heck was going on. Jaylen Brown was called for palming. PALMING?!? I mean, yeah, he palmed it. He always palms it. So does every other player in the NBA.

I have a question about a Hornets player. His name is Kon Knueppel. They were pronouncing his last name kuh-nipple. How the heck do you get kuh-nipple from that spelling. I would think it would be pronounced new-pull.

If they think kuh-nipple is the correct way to say this, they must call a knife a kuh-neef-eh

I expect someone asked him a long time ago. Every mention of him I've heard is pronounced the same way. He probably knows how to pronounce his own name.

He says it's a German name (it is) and yet doesn't pronounce it the German way either. A German speaker would say New-pell.

English or German, the k is silent.

A Google search yields this:
On April 11, 2026, the Boston Celtics signed Dalano Banton to a two-year contract, filling their 15th and final roster spot for the playoffs. The move was carefully timed to keep the Celtics roughly $11,000 under the luxury tax line, a key financial goal for the team's front office and GM Brad Stevens.

That was a very interesting game to end the season. Are the Magic that bad? They're in the playoffs and could even be the Celtics' first round opponent. They just got beat by the C's third-stringers.

Crazy game. I agree. Magic played some of their better players too. You have to assume the Magic were not really trying.

Why? This loss forces them to the playin against the 76ers.

They played their starters.

The Cs had four bench players record career highs.

Right - they were absolutely giving it their best as had they won they would have hosted the play in game and instead they are the 8th seed and have to visit the 76ers.

Meanwhile the win for the Cs was actually HUGE as it forces the Knicks to play Atlanta instead of the Raptors, who they dominated this season

The Celts of course face the winner of the 76ers/Magic play in so you have to feel like it bodes better for them if it does wind up being the Magic based on how strong the bench was against their starters.

I can't think that ANYONE wants to be playing the Celtics right now.

From a Magic Forum:

"We shat the bed, rolled in it, decided we’ll change the sheets tomorrow and rolled over and went back to sleep."

Lets' go Huskies!!!
3rd Championship Game in last 4 years for the most dominant College Basketball team over the last 30 f'n years!
Been a huge Huskies fan ever since Jim Calhoun left the Northeastetn Huskies for te UConn Huskies.
I used to work right across the street from Northeastern and we hired Northeastetn interns all the time. I had one as a personal assistant and she was sensational. No, get your heads outta the sewer, not that way.
I also played a lot of hoops on different levels for many years and loved the Northeastern program under Big Jim.
Go back to 1995- UConn has more National Chsmpionships than anyone. More than Duke, UNC, Kentucky, everybody.
They are the Bluebloods of College Basketball.
My wife and I are proud Northeastern parents. Our youngest graduated summa-cum-laude and won the President's Award for the highest GPA in all the schools of science. I don't remember the year but he was there when Obama came to stump for Martha Coakley.

Hornets/ Heat highly entertaining game.
Lotta late-game drama.
Charlotte's a young team. But theyre coming.
Couple years and some quality size away from being contenders.
Charles Lee can coach

I am very glad that the Hornets are in the top bracket for the East. I think the Celtics would have a tough time with them, especially if Ball lights it up again. That guy can single-handedly win (or lose) any game he's in.

I laughed when I saw where he tried to trip Bam - for the second time [edit] in two years.

Didn't realize that was his 2nd time.
He's lucky Bam didn't snap his skinny ass in two. There's plenty of guys who would have

He didn't try, he DID, and took him out of the game. He should have been ejected.
