It's not unusual for a news entity to not publicly report on itself doing an internal investigation or suspending an employee. If they did so, they'd also have to report results of their findings. This info probably was leaked but you know the leak is legit when other credible outlets pick up on it.

The same Church that positions itself as a moral authority time and time again is made up of imperfect humans. Got it. So much for their authority. Pretty much the reason why so many left the Church once they saw how it tried to protect the child abusers in its midst at the expense of the children they really should have been protecting first and foremost.

The frustrating part is how this still gets downplayed. This post talks about imperfect human beings in the Church without any acknowledgement of the scale of the imperfection, thus minimizing it. One kind of imperfection is to take the Lord's name in vein. A second kind is for adults to have sex with children and use their position of authority to coerce the children into keeping quiet about it, making it both physical and psychological abuse. Both swearing and child abuse are imperfections, but not exactly on the same scale.

A third kind of imperfection is a power structure that is aware its adult employees are having sex with children and abusing their position of authority to cover things up and deciding it's an internal matter they can manage. All this despite getting ongoing evidence of repeat offenders that should be telling them their attempts to manage the situation aren't working. Yet if they admit it isn't working then their role as being able to save sinners falls apart, big time. Given they can't admit that, they try to cover it up, which as Nixon found out, is the exact wrong thing to do.

Another forum seems to be going with the idea that she got suspended because more evidence of the Vrabel thing came to light, but personally I think it's because some allegations of past indiscretions seem to be coming to light. It'll be interesting to see how much of the truth ever sees light of day.

He wasn't " poorly catchized to believe that the church is full of perfect humans," rather that society was prevented from finding out that the Catholic Church is rife with clergy who sexually abuse little kids. The church systematically shunted priests from one diocese to another knowing they were child molesters, and knowing that they would continue to molest children in their new diocese. You tell us, what is sicker than that? In fact Cardinal Law of Boston did this repeatedly, and one of the priests he relocated, Father Paul Shanley was the person who founded NAMBL, The National Association of Man Boy Love. Cardinal Law's punishment for repeatedly providing pedophile priests with fresh new children to rape? He was promoted to the Vatican, out of the jurisdiction of American law enforcement. It wasn't " a few bad apples," it was the systematic proliferation of child molestation, just like the Epstein/Trump Files, where the names of the most powerful men in America are well known but still protected by a justice system that is more invested in protecting the child molesters than bringing them to Justice. If that isn't pure evil then there is no such thing.
