Russini & Vrabel Nothing to see here?

The obvious? What did I miss that obviously points to an affair here? This isn't just about "defending the flying Elvis" this is about a larger conversation of being friends with the other gender. If you believe you can be friends and nothing more, there's nothing to see here. If you think men and women can't be friends without wanting to have sex with each other you will project onto this and assume the worst
Maybe there's something there. Maybe there isn't. I know if my wife saw pictures like of me and some woman she would likely make some assumptions.

My only concern is how it affects the team, the players. What people do in their own personal lives doesn’t matter to me. But if you’re preaching to the players to do the right thing on and off the field, how can the players take you seriously as the coach, if you’re out there, off the field, doing things you shouldn’t be doing ?

He got caught. It’s obvious they aren’t just reporter & coach. They obviously have a prior relationship. By that I mean they are closer than just interviewer and interviewee. These aren’t the actions of people who are “just friends”. Even if you are “just friends”, this isn’t just the second time they’ve ever met, people who are friends know each other for a while.

It’s April, this happened in March, it’ll be swept under the rug pretty quickly. But who knows how this will affect his players.

I don’t give a **** what consenting adults do. Maybe he and his wife have an “understanding”. More common than you think.
Nor do I - though Coach Vrabel would probably advise his players not to be a distraction.

Even if there is an affair/divorce etc that doesn't qualify as a distraction to me - it's real life, and people deserve to be in a happy relationship

If he takes it to Belichickian levels the way BB did with GoldDigger™ - well then we may have a problem

And you hold Vrabel to that same standard. Obviously.
They should each be held to the ethical standards of their respective professions. A reporter having a personal relationship with someone she covers without disclosing it is highly unethical (whether she is married or not). If she sold furniture for a living I’d say leave her alone professionally, but she has violated a professional trust.

I think one must ask questions about Vrabel’s behavior before determining if he behaved unethically. Did he give her scoops she would not otherwise have gotten, or otherwise receive some sort of preferential treatment? Maybe, maybe not…. It seems to me that she has reported on the potential Brown trade, but not with any info that a dozen other reporters didn’t also have.

I would think she would never be allowed to give interviews with the Patriot’s organization ever again.

Assumptions for you, questions for me. First off, even though I can 100% be friends with women and have no ulterior motives, I do make a concerted effort not to disrespect my wife by not even making anything look bad, so I think its fair to criticize Vrabel on what this may "look like." But if there was ever a picture of me like that with another woman my wife wouldn't jump to the worst conclusion, because we've built that trust and relationship over 14 years and haven't given each other reasons to be skeptical.

Anyway I digress. It's a conversation for him and his wife not for me and mine lol

My main point is if this one any one of the 31 other coaches with some reporter there wouldn't be much dissenting opinion but because it's our coach it's different.

Not to be naive but

a lot of terminally online nerds who can't see women as friends can make this look a lot worse than it is. It could be an affair, but nothing in the pictures suggests it. If you think hugging a woman means you're having an affair with her you need to get out more
Depends on the context. Hugging a woman at a wedding when you’re surrounded by friends and family is probably not an affair. Hugging a woman at a romantic Arizona couples getaway when your spouses aren’t there, perhaps no one else was there (depending on which reports you believe) and spending the better part of the day with just her is rightfully going to raise eyebrows among anyone with 2 functioning brain cells.

It certainly doesn’t help that she has been plausibly accused of such a thing in the past.

The problem here is the distraction this creates. Anytime Russini reports on the Patriots the twitter comments are going to be cringey.

I think interview wise, those days are over. She may report on them, but I doubt she’ll be getting any news from Vrabel or the team.

Very attractive

Man...that wide shot doesn't paint a great picture for him, and it's probably going to create a long night for him at home. Definitely don't envy him. Although the best way to avoid doing anything you might regret is to not put yourself in that situation to begin with. Especially in this day and age. Somebody is always watching.
