NFL News Florio speculating Rodgers to Denver

Share the latest NFL news from around the league here.
How do you know that Rodgers doesnt want to call it quits yet?
Has he ever given you the impression he would be ok as a backup? Maybe I'm completely wrong, but I've never once gotten the sense that Aaron Rodgers NEEDS to keep playing football.

You are 100% not wrong.
Rodgers would retire to his cave before accepting a role as a backup QB.

Yep, he very much seems like a different cat, and not like someone that will keep playing as long as someone will have him on a roster. As I said, I don't think he needs football, and that's ok, especially for anyone in their 40s.

Yup. He's made $396 million from his NFL salary alone, he doesn't need football.

At this juncture, how many options does Rodgers really have?
Pittsburgh. They're not getting someone better in this year's draft.

Pitt isnt a valid option for Rodgers.

He and McCarthy butted heads over playcalling and rumors are that Rodgers played a role in getting McCarthy gone. Rodgers was all in for Tomlin bragging about his wins and last seasons Steeler OC is gone.

They pick low, so that it seems unlikely they would find a QB in this draft, but stranger things have happened. Tomlin wasted Bens career.

MaCarthy claims that he and Rodgers are conversing and on stable terms, but theyve battled before.

It still has nothing to do if Pittsburgh is a good fit anymore. Again, has Rodgers ever given off a single vibe that leads you to believe he's a willing backup or injury fill in?

I think it was right before he was traded to the Jets, he was talking to reporters and said he felt he could still win an MVP in this league. He didn't say he still felt like he had something to offer teams and he could help bring a championship, he specially said he could still win an MVP.

Less than 3 calender years later, that person won't mind filling in for Bo Nix if he starts the year on PUP? You're not going to sell me on that.

The Pittsburgh angle is relevant if Rodgers has other options available now.

If Denver comes calling with a contract and signing bonus, that would be hard to pass up at 42 yo.

Why?
It would be backup money, what would they offer be, $10M?
With all his off field income, he's made well north of $500 in his career, you think he needs another $6M after tax?
Don't think so.

Makes no sense, Rodgers is a ****ty teammate.

Rodgers and McCarthy buried the hatchet years ago. McCarthy claims that he and Rodgers speak weekly and that bringing him back to Pittsburgh is an option that is still on the table.

Perhaps he does need football, its his fix and addiction. Would be lost without it.

I guess that's possible, but not signing with the Steelers until June last year and showing no indication of signing with anyone soon doesn't sound like an addiction. You woild think anyone that would be lost without football would want to be there for offseason workouts and OTAs.

I saw all that.

Mcarthy aint Tomlin The moment Mike Tomlin made clear: Aaron Rodgers won’t walk alone

There's no truth to the rumor that her gratuitous nude scene in Project Hail Mary is what's driving ticket sales - especially in IMAX theaters.
Our youngest son just recommended Project Hail Mary to me. I'll watch it even though I'm not a Lily fan.

Maybe the legal psychedelics are the draw.
