2026 Draft: EDGE

"At Iheanachor, Jacas, Rodriguez, Kacmarek and Sobkowicz, we handle all your football needs. Whether it's pass blocking, run blocking, tackling, rushing, or generating turnovers, our specialists are prepared to serve you in every way."

We know Todd McShay comps Jacas to Trey Hendrickson so I thought I'd look at their comps.

Trey Hendrickson

6-4, 266, 32" arms

Gabe Jacas

6-4, 260, 33" arms

Trey Hendrickson

4.65 forty, 1.59 split
18 reps

Gabe Jacas

4.69, 1.59 split
30 reps!

Jacas has the advantage in strength and they're identical on get off. Where Hendrickson might have the edge is the 3 cone which Hendrickson did in 7.03. Jacas didn't do the cone and I suspect if he had, it would have been slower. Even so, the comp holds up fairly well.

Jacas had 28 sacks in college, Hendrickson had 29.5.

Are you trying to give PF2 a stroke

Manx and Todd McShay:

And Me.. I've been on the Jacas train since the combine.. Manx re-reviewed Jacas after I noted that he was pretty evenly split in terms of power/speed/inside moves for his pass rushing.

Yup. Dabruinz gets the credit for Jacas.

Sam Monson and Steve Palazzolo on Mesidor.

SM: "He's amazing inside, like really good. To the point where even though he's 259lb, every sub package I would have him lined up as a 3-tech and just let him go to work."

SP: "His quickness is a real challenge for guards"

SM: "He annihilates guards. He's just too fast for them. He's legitimately a nightmare for interior offensive linemen to deal with. He had a pressure rate way over 20% inside which is nuts. That would be the best defensive tackle pressure rate you'd find in the NFL."

It's going to be interesting to see what teams like Houston and Miami do.
They are on opposite ends of the spectrum, yet both have multiple picks with which to attempt a trade.

Miami has needs at Edge, WR, CB, S, and OL.

Houston has needs at IOL, DT, CB. and LB.

A dark horse for a trade would be Cleveland.

I love Eli too. But remember the name Bell. Chris Bell and Skyler Bell. Imagine if we drafted the Bell Brothers.

Ring my Bell, ring my Bell.

I know this is OT to the thread, but while Chris Bell has been my WR binky since September, Skyler Bell is seriously under-appreciated. He is really, really good.

One day 2 EDGE option I think is being overlooked is Jake Golday.

He improved his 3C to 6.84 at his pro day, which would top all LB and EDGE prospects in this draft. His 1.59 10-split is comparable to Howell, Jacas, and Arvell Reese.

Golday was a DE before switching to LB. For me, he solves two spots:

1. An off-ball LB with range and coverage ability

2. A pass rusher.

Golday can bring what Cashius Howell and R Mason Thomas would, while providing a huge LB upgrade as well. Guys like Romello Height and Jaishawn Barham and are smaller, and offer less as off-ball LBs.

I say we use our pick to claim the rights of Colin Simmons now.

What we cant do that?

I was not kidding. If we drafted the Bell Brothers I think we would be all set at WR for awhile. Of course that means we ignore EDGE or OT or TE, so there is always a trade off. But I like both Bells, very athletic with huge production (Chris before the ACL of course).
