2026 Mock Draft Thread

I'm happy with Doubs, Boutte, Williams, Hollins.
You don't add a guy who is going to take snaps away from Doubs, Boutte, and Williams.

You have too high of an expectation for a 2nd round pick to be an immediate upgrade over Doubs. Not happening in this offense.
There are too many OTHER areas that are higher priority than adding a WR. Adding a WR is a luxury pick. The Pats are still rebuilding and don't have any "luxury" picks to use.
WR is not the biggest need, I agree 100% on that.
But it’s still a pretty big need.
I think Doubs’ role is pretty safe, I expect his snap count to high no matter what we do in the draft.
If Bell or Hurst or whatever name you prefer are better than Boutte, Williams, Hollins… then we should definitely consider a WR as early at rd 2 or 3. If it takes snaps away from other guys because the rook is better, that is a good thing.
We have a lot of needs and a lot of picks.
If there’s a run on OTs in the 1st, then we probably don’t pick one till rd 3 or later.
There will be LB options in rd 3 and beyond.
Edge is the one position where I 10000000% believe we need to invest a pick in the first 2 rds.
I would be absolutely fine with a WR in rd 2 if the value is there, assuming no AJ trade if course.

I'm not a big fan of taking a WR high either, the only thing I'd say is that of the WRs you mentioned, only two will definitely be on the roster in '27 so we do need to add someone.
Plus nobody needs the Cult knocking on your door in Shropshire or at your favourite pub, The Loopy Shrew.

I don't think a WR round 2 is unreasonable if the value is there. Chris Bell and Ted Hurst are the 2 possible values for me. That said, I would probable prioritize EDGE, LB, and Treydan Stukes higher.

Which is why I said prior to day 3.. I'm ok adding someone like Stribling, Skyler Bell, Ja'Kobi Lane, Kayden Wetjen, Sobkowicz, Kibble.

And it's Hampshire and The King and Duck, named after an event in which King Henry III and and an aggressive duck fought off a French raiding party in 1258.*

* not really but that's the sort of traditions we have over here.

I have one question, who's your football team?

I don't really have one. It had been Man Utd since I was 10 years old but I haven't watched football for years.
I understand that. I used to be a Burnley fan (more a Sean Dyche)...haven't since he got fired.

Not a big club fan, but really enjoy international play.
Did attend a Newcastle / Scunthorp game a few years back when Newcastle was relegated.
Fun night.

Manx didn't mention him as a Hill type. He ran the ball at GT but that's what they do and he did it well. This is back to building decent QB rooms with home grown guys who can do Scout team practices and eventually play decently in an emergency QB1 scenario.

Fair enough. My point was simply a clarification that those two roles (emergency QB3, Taylor Hill type QB) are mutually incompatible.

I wouldn't have taken Bentley. He's just an over-sized WR who has issues run blocking and pass blocking. I think taking any WR prior to day 3 is a waste of a pick because i don't see the Pats carrying 6 this year.. Not when they have clearly put a focus on running the ball.
Fair points, however I think that Bentley has improved from 2024 to 2025 in his blocking and honestly all TEs have issues blocking except for a handful of guys in history. As a receiver he is very athletic and has very good hands, a reason that I have him over Roush relative to where they will be drafted.

I don't think a WR would be a wasted pick because We only have Doubs, KW and Chism signed beyond 2026. Maybe they extend Booty (I hope so) but maybe not and Hurst is a big body X that this team could use.

They have put a focus on improving the running game but I think it was partially done to improve the PA passing game. Just my rational

You cut my statement short and it takes away from what you're saying by doing so.
I said that taking a WR prior to day 3 would be a waste. I did not say taking a WR would be a waste. I specifically listed off several WR who would be available on Day 3 would would help the team.

We'll disagree on Bentley because you clearly see something that no one else sees in regards to Bentley's blocking. Which is surprising since people have been revamping their takes on players for the last 6 months. There are numerous TEs in this draft that are much MUCH better blockers than Bentley. Bentley is a liability as anything other than a receiver. Which, to me, puts him in the 5th or 6th round. At best. And not a fit for the Pats. Guys like Delp, Kacmarek, Klare, and numerous others aren't the liability in the run game that Bentley is and he wouldn't add anything in the Play-Action game because his blocking is below-average. So, his being on the field would telegraph to opponents that the Pats would be passing.

If Bell is there, end of R2, and his Med report is solid, we have to take him. I am not a WR guy, but that is amazing value.

I didn't think I needed to specify about when the WR is taken because I was commenting on your statement about taking one prior to day 3, I assumed it was a given that I referred to you saying prior to day 3.

I said that his blocking improved from 2024 to 2025 and I have seen quite a few make the same statement, you can disagree. He does not use his hands very well when blocking and that can be improved. You mentioned Delp and Kac which are good blockers but Klare is a stretch because he is in the same boat as Bentley as far as needing to improve. As a receiver I think there are few that compare with Bently as a 4th or lower round guy. I am guessing that Delp goes 3rd round at latest and Klare will probably be a mid 3rd to mid 4th. Not a fan of Kac in his routes.

I don't love this one. I was thrilled to get KC at #31, but I don't see him dropping that far. I'm ok with the two edge rushers, but I eff'd myself out of a TE/RB at #125 because I gambled. I took Moore at #125 because of size, no more smurf CBs. #131 was either Raridon or the kid from Stanford, I flipped a coin. Got my man Ephesians and now I have twin towers drafted at CB. 191 and 198 were BPA, and I took a 3rd QB with Clubnik.

Used a different mock draft sim this time. Weird how they don't give a draft summary that can be shared easily.

Sadiq dropped all the way to 31 so I was forced to take him. It was the only sane choice.

Still landed Jacas for Edge in round 2 and Crownover in round 3.

I'm not sure how we did on the middle picks. Caldwell is a freak at 6'5 running a 4.31 40. If anything I feel like this draft engine undervalues him when you consider the athletic upside.

But I feel we got some good value late. Randall is chiseled at 6'3 232 lbs RB but also ran 4.5 40 meaning plenty of athleticism at that size. Prysock kind of intrigues me as a 6'3 cornerback. Fitzgerald has been a productive ballhawk at safety.

That's a really good mock.
