It's easy, and only takes a few moments.purely speculating here....Gonzo doesn't want to set the market for the CB position. he wants to be paid at the rate as the highest defensive players. Watt. Garrett. Parson. Hutchinson. $40m
That’s why I’m hoping it gets done before Seattle signs Witherspoon. But I can see both players wanting to wait and see what the other gets so they can top it.The longer they wait, the more it’ll cost.
gonzo and Mcduffie both share the same agent.. gonzo is a better player but Mcduffie is a draft class ahead of him... Gonzo gets the same or in the ball park of Mcduffie.. is my inclination... only a matter of time..purely speculating here....Gonzo doesn't want to set the market for the CB position. he wants to be paid at the rate as the highest defensive players. Mcduffie is the Barometer..That’s why I’m hoping it gets done before Seattle signs Witherspoon. But I can see both players wanting to wait and see what the other gets so they can top it.
Very true, but players and agents understand that too. If you're willing to risk injury/performance by waiting it out, you can make an extra $40-50 million in guaranteed money. The longer they wait, the more it’ll cost.
the trade for Sauce for 2 picks in rd 1 also came with some financial certainty.Recently the trade market for a CB of his caliber has been 2 1st round picks but the teams in need already made their moves and I don't wanna think in a scenario of Gonzalez not playing here, but yeah that extension will cost, and if there was a trade offer on the table depending on the team you would think theere would be some temptation in trading him, 2 1st round picks from a sorry ass team you could replace him and more.
I don't really have any reason to believe he has that kind of ego. He is a very charitable personality, I doubt he wants that kind of attention. But I could be wrong.purely speculating here....Gonzo doesn't want to set the market for the CB position. he wants to be paid at the rate as the highest defensive players. Watt. Garrett. Parson. $8-$9m per is a lot of money to leave on the table.I don't really have any reason to believe he has that kind of ego. He is a very charitable personality, I doubt he wants that kind of attention. But I could be wrong.
Agreed!... as Gonzo is still a very young guy at just 23.. he sees his peers as well as all the same media coverage & talk as we do as fans.. with all the different kinds of media outlets these days it's natural for a player to use it get thier points across whenever negotiations are on going..I don't really have any reason to believe he has that kind of ego. That logic doesn't really hold up. So you are saying he wants to be paid as the highest defensive player because... it's a lot of money? Who's to say that he doesn't want to be paid as the highest player, period, then? That's even MORE money? He wants QB money!!! It's the MOST money!!!! I mean, it's a lot to leave on the table, man!$8-$9m per is a lot of money to leave on the table.
not saying that is the case, but it could be
That doesn't matter anymore. Not like it used toThe longer they wait, the more it’ll cost.
