2026 Draft: EDGE

Work ethic is great. There are never any guarantees. though.

I remember Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez reportedly slept in a hyperbaric chamber to improve his performance. Fanatic work ethic. he as a pro.

This is not anything on Jacas, who I think will be a very good player. There are just never any guarantees.

Does anyone have any info on Tyce Westland from Wyoming? He will be a UDFA. I know nothing about this kid and cannot find any game tape, but his athleticism caught my eye
6-4 244
4.65 40 with 1.62 10 yd
4.38 SS
7.02 3C
36.5 VJ
10 BJ

His dad was a high-school football coach.

25 pressures and only 2 sacks.

I'd love a double dip with Jacas in the first (or trade back) and Crawford if he falls to the 3rd or 4th round. Crawford and Ponder would be good situational pass rushers to compliment Jacas and Dre'Mont Jones.

I was confident a week ago he would be there at 63, but I'm starting to think now that he won't.
Seems like a lot of our binkies are moving on up.
I am starting to think that if we want a day one of the season Edge with upside that we need to take him in the 1st round or trade up into the 2nd. I think that DDS, Jacas, Young, Howell, Mesidor and Lawrence are all gone in the top 50. The plan might be start Ponder and Jones until Landry is ready and then Ponder and Swinson will be backups along with a later round rook working in. I like Landry and Jones as starters (BIG IF) Landry can give what he gave before he got hurt.

His comp for Jacas is AJ Epenesa. Lol

I could see it if he does not develop

I also would not mind a late round trade for David Ojabo as a developmental guy with upside

If Max Iheanachor and Blake Miller are off the board at 31, I would be content with something like this:

*** Trade back from 31 to around 40-45. For example, if Ty Simpson falls, Miami could trade 43 and 85 to move ahead of the Jets and Arizona. They have 2 3rd round picks.

43. Dani Dennis-Sutton, EDGE. You can substitute Jacas, Young or Lawrence, but DDS is my pick.

*** Trade 63 and 125 to Jacksonville to move up to 56.

56. S or LB: Treydan Stukes, Jacob Rodriguez, Jake Golday.

85. Best offensive skill player. Ted Hurst, Mike Washington, Eli Stowers, Sam Roush, Oscar Delp, etc.

95. Travis Burke, OT, Memphis.

131. LB or S: Kyle Louis if he slips, Kaleb Elams-Orr, VJ Payne, Zakee Wheatley if he slips. Depends on direction at 56.

I’ve been advocating for a trade with Miami, even before the Waddle swap, getting their 2nd and 3rd.
We’d have multiple picks in 2nd, 3rd & 4th rounds. It’s the sweet spot of the draft and having six picks would be great to add quality and depth.
BTW, Miami has an insane 4 picks in the third round.
