2026 Draft: Tight Ends

I don't want to see an anemic Playoffs Offense again...you get the Young TE especially if it's glaring Need!
Your wants are irrelevant. You still can't wrap your head around the fact that the WRs, RBs, and TEs were not the issue with the offense.

You only care about the "shiny". You don't understand that the games are won in the trenches.

Lots of good TE options in the draft this year.
Many will be available on Day 3.. But you can't tell @PatsFan2 that. He thinks that only round 1 and 2 WR and TE mean anything. It's why he wanted Pitts. It's why he's got a hard-on for the Pats trading for Brown. It's why he wants to piss away the top 2 picks on a WR and a TE while completely ignoring that the team has more important needs.

Just a thought that occured to me. With the Raiders being a little under pressure with salary cap due to the Crosby fiasco, and Michael Mayer's role there being more or less made redundant by Brock Bowers, would they consider one of our 6ths for him? He's going into a contract year after all.

They could make it doubly hard to refuse with 2 6ths?

The Raiders aren't under any Cap pressure. They have Crosby and Miller that they could easily do the Salary to Signing bonus conversion to free up space.

Mayer also only counts 2.9M against their cap. Trading him would only save $2M...

Question for you all. Who's your pick in the 3rd-4th round range?

1. Sam Roush

2. Oscar Delp

3. Eli Raridon

4. A.N. Other

I can't decide between the top two. I like Roush's size/athleticism but I like Delp's pure athleticism.

I like Raridon out of those guys, followed by Roush

Im not sold on Roush. I like Raridon’s upside the most, but Delp would be just fine.

I think that if the following 2 thigs are true:

1. We trade for AJ Brown
2. We want to improve the run game

Roush probably makes the most sense in that we'd want a quality inline blocker but can sacrifice a bit at receiving TE because the opportunities will be reduced on a team with Brown, Doubs and a combination of the other WRs on the team. You just need an outlet receiver rather than an important cog in the passing game.

I think that Delp is the better pick over Roush in that respect. But that's just me.. I think that Delp is just as good of an inline blocker but he's got the attitude that he WANTS to put a DE on their keester. Not just chip them and go out for the pass.

Fair, but I do think there’s a difference between a 250lb inline TE and a 270lb one.

Couple of things that influence this.
How improved will our Oline be?
We already signed a very good blocking TE.
I have been pining for a double dip at TE because I want at least one real receiving threat.
With what we've done in FA, I would rather give up a little in the blocking dept, and go with the better pass-catcher.
If we double dip we can take an all around guy, and a guy who isn't the best blocker.

How many opportunities will there be for a pass catching TE on a team with Brown, Boutte, Doubs, Hollins and Williams, especially if he doesn't get on the field as a blocker?

Hernandez averaged 58 receptions per year as our 2nd TE behind Gronk in his 3 year career, and he missed games with injury every year.
I think we could find opportunities.

Then Kanak is your guy.
I'm not sure who I like, I flip flop still.
Still think at least one of Gyllenborg, Villari or Koziol will end up being good pass catchers.
Which one????
