2026 Draft: EDGE

Wonder if he could be a guy who could develop from being a ST into a Sub-LB.. Bring him in on 3rd downs.. Have him Blitz/Rush.

How is he against the run?? Is he instinctive in terms of hitting the correct holes?
I haven't had much of an opportunity to watch him aside from his highlight tape so I'm afraid I can't answer that.

If the Pats added him, then people like @PatsFan2 would have a Bryan Thomas Jr to root for.. .LOL
We could add both, PF2 would still be clamouring for someone.
Maybe we pick up BJT and Brown, and trade them both for Chase, would that scratch the PF2 itch?

No, we should draft day 3 EDGE Bryan Thomas and Alabama LB Justin Jefferson. Imagine PF2's elation at getting both Thomas and Jefferson.

This is what they'd look like if that happened:

Edit: I'm sure that @PatsFan2 will give me a dislike and send me a DM like he always does when I pick on him...

I have DDS, Jacas and Young all kind of in the same boat. DDS is more athletic I think and Young and Jacas play with more power but I think they will all produce at a similar level in the NFL.

I have started watching Caden Curry and would not hate him picked in the 5th or lower assuming we double dip.

Small arms though 30 inches or so

Ok by me. Young too, please.

Push those OTs down.

I like Lawrence, but top 25 is too rich for me.

From the Feldman's freaks list entry for Gabe Jacas

“Talent is common at this level of college football; however, work ethic sets the elite apart from the rest, and Gabe Jacas is the definition of work ethic and dedication,” Wright said. “Football has become his lifestyle. From early morning workouts to late afternoon workouts. He has embraced every aspect of a relentless mindset to achieve high goals.”

Work ethic is great. There are never any guarantees. though.

I remember Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez reportedly slept in a hyperbaric chamber to improve his performance. Fanatic work ethic. he as a pro.

This is not anything on Jacas, who I think will be a very good player. There are just never any guarantees.

I started off liking Lawrence, but kinda cooled on him because he seems primarily a speed rush guy. You all have sold me on JACAS after I started liking him because it's clear he uses a variety of ways to beat you off the edge. Not just Speed, but power and inside as well.

I am a big Jacas fan and would love if the Pats drafted him but he sometimes gets hyper focused on the QB that he becomes a liability against the run

That's why you need a "General" type the way that Bruschi and Vrabel were at LB to keep him in line. Help him recognize the difference in play-action vs. run so that he doesn't become a liability against the run.

"Defensive end Zion Young tipped the scales at 267, five pounds heavier than the combine, and timed 4.77 seconds in the 40 with a super-quick 10-yard split of 1.72 seconds. Young is now getting serious consideration at the back end of Round 1."

That is not "super quick". It would have been second slowest at the combine, slower than LT Overton.

DDS is very similar in measurements, but bettered Young in athletic testing, and significantly exceeded him in sacks over their final 2 college seasons.
Much rather DDS in the 2nd over Young in the 1st.
