Pundit mock drafts 2026 [maybe with FAILs]

Normally I have a Mock Draft FAIL thread, but, remarkably, I haven't seen more than one or two truly glaring ones so far. So instead I'll just use this one to track pundit mocks I find. In general, I'm only going to post ones that are unique [i.e., one-rounders with new names at 31] or three or more rounds.

TRADE: NE trades 31 and 201 to CIN for 41 and 72. [For some reason they're missing one of the 6s and the 7 they got back.]

  • 2.41: R Mason Thomas, EDGE, Oklahoma
  • 2.63: Michael Trigg, TE, Baylor
  • 3.72: Dametrious Crownover, OT, Texas A&M
  • 3.95: Brenen Thompson, WR, Mississippi State
  • 4.125: Kaleb Elarms-Orr, LB, TCU
  • 4.131: Zane Durant, DT, Penn State
  • 5.169: VJ Payne, S, Kansas State
  • 6.190: Lewis Bond, WR, Boston College
  • 6.197: Diego Pounds, OT, Ole Miss
  • 6.211: J’Mari Taylor, RB, Virginia

  • Nice Draft: you picked some sneaky guys at WR there.

Not if we sign Alec Pierce. I like Cooper, but I'd rather go OT in the 1st and get Antonio Williams, Skyler Bell or DeZhaun Stribling instead of Markel Bell.

I don't like Klein, substitute Sam Roush or Oscar Delp.

Would like to find a way to get VJ Payne.
FA and the upcoming Draft is important for us to acquire WR's. We have Three WR's coming off the Books at the end of 2026 Boutte - Pop and Barefoot. WR is a Huge Need... getting Pierce and Omar Cooper with Kyle Williams in the wings is a good start.

Just before FA started DraftTek did a mock where the dream is not dead.

1.31 OT Monroe Freeling, Georgia
2.63 WR Chris Bell, Louisville
3.95 EDGE Anthony Lucas, USC
4.125 TE Jack Endries, Texas
4.131 S Jalon Kilgore, the other USC
5.169 OT J.C. Davis, Illinois
6.189 CB Collin Wright, Stanford
6.196 DT Deven Eastern, Minnesota
6.200 OG Febechi Nwaiwu, Oklahoma
6.210 RB Jam Miller, Alabama
7.247 DT Brandon Cleveland, NC State

I'm watching a 2 round mock draft from Josh Norris and Hayden Winks, both excellent guys, and they have Freeling, Lomu, Iheanachor and Malachi Lawrence off the board by pick 22 and I can see it happening.

Interesting that they see things that way.

As long as Blake Miller lasts to 31 and DDS to 63.

Or Caleb Banks at 31 and Dametrious Crownover at 63.

Miller at 31 and DDS at 63 is my dream scenario, but not sure it's in the cards.

Interesting that they have Malachi Lawrence going before Mesidor.

Josh Norris did the first round, Hayden Winks the 2nd. Winks agreed with Norris that Lawrence is going to be a draft riser and I agree but winks took Mesidor almost immediately in the 2nd round saying he's a top 15 talent. Winks also too Stukes top 40.

Do you want a link to the video?

Don't like that one.

It fits a need and I think Klare is underrated because of his lack of production. That'll happen when you play in an offense with Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate.

Klare is a pretty good like for like Henry replacement and the edges were wiped out apart from Josephs and Crawford. The downside to not going EDGE in round one.

I think Lawrence has climbed up draft boards so high that he is challenging Mesidor as 3rd Edge rusher (I did not include Reese)

We've discussed this elsewhere. It will take a ton of luck for the Pats to get RT and EDGE in the first 2 rounds, in either order.

I think Lawrence has climbed up draft boards so high that he is challenging Mesidor as 3rd Edge rusher (I did not include Reese)

Discounting Reese, there are at least 11 potential EDGE rushers who could go in the first 2 rounds:

- David Bailey
- Rueben Bain
- Akheem Mesidor
- Keldric Faulk
- Cashius Howell
- TJ Parker
- Zion Young
- Malachi Lawrence
- Gabe Jacas
- Dani Dennis-Sutton
- R Mason Thomas

I think Bailey and Bain are locked in, but after that it's anyone's guess.

I think it would take a lot for Lawrence to jump all 5 of the guys I have listed ahead of him, but it's not impossible. I like Lawrence, but not that high.

I'd take it but I think I'd rather have someone else at WR even though I like Sarratt. I just think his upside is limited.

Pat Lane with a 7-rounder.

1.31 OT Blake Miller, Clemson
TRADE: Patriots trade 2.63 to NO for 3.73 + 4.136
3.73 EDGE Romello Height, Texas Tech
TRADE: Patriots trade 3.95 + 6.191 + 6.202 to JAX for 3.88
3.88 LB/S Kyle Louis, Pitt
4.125 TE Oscar Delp, Georgia
4.131: CB Charles Demmings, Stephen F. Austin
4.136: WR Jeff Caldwell, Cincinnati
5.171: S VJ Payne, Kansas State
6.198: DT Nick Barrett, South Carolina
6.212 "RB" Desmond Reid, Pitt
7.247 OT Nolan Rucci, PSU
