They're both bums.
It's more like goodbye Kayshon Boutte after this season especially if he has a better year. R Doubs was not my First choice A.J. Brown to the Pats is not happening. This is a pretty solid signing - 4 years, $70M equates to about $17M APY. Pretty decent value for a good WR2 which is what he is. He doesn't solve the WR1 problem, but there were no answers to that problem on the free agent market. He does make the room better brings them a player type that they needed, and should operate well with Maye. He was effectively Green Bay's WR1 last year for much of the season due to injuries and performed well. If Kyle Williams and Kayshon Boutte take a step then the room should be in decent shape, but still in need of one elite player at the top, most likely.

I’m not sure how they would have done any better in the FA market. This signing works for me.This is a pretty solid signing - 4 years, $70M equates to about $17M APY. “Pats need a wide receiver, any wide receiver, we don’t have anyone good! Give me anyone, please!!!”Watch the Pats Experts say that's not an overpay because you know...
If they view him as a WR2 this is a great deal and signing, the problem is are they going to sell this as a "WR2 with WR1 upside" and the only big money signing at WR?This is a pretty solid signing - 4 years, $70M equates to about $17M APY. He is a good addition. I don't like him as a #1.
But I still don't think him being signed means they are out of the AJ Brown race. What could happen is Boutte could end up being part of the trade package though.
Seen this type before don't move the needle much.“Pats need a wide receiver, any wide receiver, we don’t have anyone good! Give me anyone, please!!!”
Pats sign a wide receiver.
“No, not this one!”
