Player Signing Patriots signing guard Alijah Vera-Tucker

One of the most talented guards on the market. Would probably be the top guard on the market when you factor age and talent if not for his injury history. He is a high risk, high reward type of signing. As long as they build some good depth at guard, I like the move.

If he stays healthy, he's a vast, vast, vast improvement over what we got from Wilson out of position last year. And Campbell won't have to compensate to make up for Wilson's **** play.

I really hope the Patriots are right about Wilson, and that he'll be a lot better at center. Jury's still out on that.

For the record (in case I haven't been really, really clear for years), I love the Vera-Tucker signing, he's a binky for me, I've wanted the Patriots to make a run at him for years now.

Still need a Draft pick and get rid of that Garage Caedan Wallace. That Drake Maye-only Draft is what it is embarrassing.

He’ll be healthy for the entire contract because he’s no longer a Jet. If he stays healthy it’s a really good deal, if not it’s an expensive IR addition. Worth a swing given the talent.
Two triceps tears, both arms, Achilles. Appears to be someone who developed muscles or weight bigger than his tendons can handle. I like the risk reward but these injuries hint there may be an underlying issue. Perhaps yoga and pliability/ and full commit stretching can help before weight lifting, practice and games.

Ready for the Romeo Doubs announcement?

Susceptibility to tendon injuries is associated with steroids, so one has to wonder

Yeah, I think talent-wise alone, Vera-Tucker was the best guard on the market.
Injury is another story, of course.
No, I meant Doubs more than Brian Thomas out of Jacksonville?

Could easily be a pro bowl level player for the Patriots if he stays healthy which is a big if and the only concern you can have about this.

How much of it has just been bad luck? I guess we'll find out.

They did a great job with keeping Moses healthy last year. Hopefully they know what they're doing.

Awesome start to fa! Couple more pieces and potentially a swing at wr if the right situation presents itself and we stay in the sb discussion

In 2024, he finished with the third-best pressure rate among right guards, per Next Gen Stats.
