Patriots Rumor Tracker / FA Signings (Updated: Signings in OP - 4/7)

Diggs was wide open plenty in the SB for easy cheese. Maye just didn't see him.
That and all season I’d say. The offensive system was created to exploit the middle of the field.

This is a good list, and there’s a lot of good players still out there you didn’t list.

There’s no need to panic. There’s a lot more free agency to go and they have 11 draft picks.
Yep this is just from the upper level of the list. Many more third/fourth tier players available too. Many said "who?" when they signed Tonga last year and he became an important piece. So you never know.

Predictions:

Bitonio, Byard, Jedrick Wills, Mafe, nothing at WR until draft.
Why would they look at Byard? He's more of an In-the-Box safety. Not to mention being 32. That would be a downgrade from Hawkins.

According to Spotrac, the top available receivers are Jauan Jennings, Deebo Samuel, Tyreek Hill, Rashid Shaheed, Mike Evans and Romeo Doubs.

Plenty of options?? Where who??
Douglas, Boutte, Chism.

Yuck

There was a report a little while ago that said the Pats were kicking the tires on Tyreek Hill (God help us). But they have said that about almost every WR.

Sick.

Absolutely not

Yikes

Safety Nick Cross, TE Foster Moreau, RB Isaiah Pacheco, there’s so many more good players out there. Those were just a few I can remember off the top of my head you didn’t list.

Jennings is intriguing. And I seem to be higher on Doubs than most.
Depends on the money of course.
Jennings and Doubs are both similar players, I'd be good with either, but I feel like Jennings is hurt a lot. Although maybe he'll be fine once he gets away from that underground power plant in the Bay Area.

Worked for the Pats when he was.

They generally didn’t make a splash on day one and got bargains with the leftovers.
Early years yes. Latter years not so much

-Raiders had the most cap space and thus could overpay for Linderbaum but seems they really had to overpay to get him.
-Titans, Commanders and Chargers next 3 in cap space haven't done much other than Robinson which was because of the coach relationship.
-Wonder if an AJ Brown trade will happen after June 1. Eagle cap effect is much better then. Would be talking 2027 picks but a disgruntled Brown is worse than settling for a 2nd round pick. Not giving up a 2027 first, expected to be a deep draft.
-Pierce not wanting to leave Indy was bummer, after that not sure there are any real difference makers, hopefully they can fill in depth at wr, safety, edge and TE a bit before the draft.

What's the Story on Brandon Aiyuk: he took a Full year off. He would be a Stefon Diggs Replacement. Offer the 49ers a 4th or 5th for him.

Did not work at all his last 4 years here

To be fair they have like 60 plus is cap space and have spent probably what, 10 of that max? That being said none of the deals being reported are any good to me.

Go get Thomas from Jax and I will be happy and build through the draft.
The cap is mostly crap, you can kick as much of it down the road and spend as much as you want, it's 80% about the real cash you're willing to spend.

Every season you see teams projected at -60m cap space, next minute they're signing 100m free agent contracts, if you're pushing it down the road you're paying more money up front though and that's why owners don't want to do it.
