Which WR do we target

Whatever that means. If NE agreed, Diggs would still be here. His production over a 17 game season was widely overrated and NE saw that.
Agreed!

FWIW, Diggs ranked above all the names under consideration on "impact score."

The reason why he's no longer here...

Just curious which WR do you think is the most likely trade target or free agent do you think is the best fit and why? If trade, what do you think it will take to get them?
I think Alec Pierce is the most obvious WR for us to take a good look at… His last two years have been pretty amazing and he is still young. I am not a big fan of AJ Brown. He has shown to be a major malcontent. Played for Vrabs before and Brown had bad things to say about him (although he respected him) and definitely. He also will just shut everything down if he’s not happy and not engaged, or not getting enough passes thrown his way. We don’t need that kind of illness on this team.

IDK if it's been mentioned, but Alec Pierce's college coach at Cincinnat was current Wisconsin HC Luke Fickell. He was Mike Vrabel's teammate at Ohio St. and reportedly ond if his closest friends.

Take it FWIW, but a back-door connection never hurts.

The reason why he's no longer here...

People can find all the conspiracies they want....but it's really simple and just as plain as that.

Good WRs aren't cheap, it's just the market.
I do like Lance and someone I've been eyeing.
We will be adding at least 1 WR in the draft, but I can't imagine we go into the draft with our current WR room.
Depending on what we do in FA/trade, that will determine how how high we need to draft a WR.
I would prefer we don't go into the draft with WR as our #1 need, but time will tell.
Rookie WR’s are cheap.

We ranked 4th in total passing yards, #1 in yards per attempt and #2 in passing TD percentage. We easily had a top five passing attack and the only receivers we need to sign or replace are Boutte, Douglas and Hooper.

Can we greatly improve our offense? Sure, it starts firstly with Drake improving at reading defenses, cultivating a short game and getting the ball out faster. Josh could improve at play calling but I don’t think at this point that’s going to happen. It’s up to Drake to become a coach on the field.

Next we need to improve the blocking, the line was middle of the pack last season. The two rookies need to get stronger and improve mightily. The front office also has to improve the overall talent and find at least one new starter.

Lastly, add some rookie WR’s and at least one more TE. They can add in layers. Kyle Williams will improve…. add some more young athletic studs. It’s not hard, it’s the best way to acquire superweapoms.

We can’t be afraid of sticking to the process and building through the farm system.

I don't disagree with anything said, but we will be adding a WR in FA, question is what will we be spending.
If the brass sign Pierce, I am 100% fine with that.
Every team has some high priced FAs, key is to mix that with drafted players and cheaper FAs that perform above their paycheque.

Yeah, but the WR’s added in free agency might be Boutte, Douglas or both.

I like Pierce… he’ll be expensive. The draft might be the smarter route.

Considering that we haven't signed a deal for brown yet .. looks like we r gonna join the pierce trade wars with chargers and 49ers and Titans and Colts.

I want one of both.
One in the draft (maybe 2).
And one in FA.
I don't think we want to go into next year with our current WR room and one or 2 rookies.
I hope and think Williams will make a jump on his second season.
If we added Pierce and a rook or 2 that would provide more flexibility next off-season when Boutte and Pop are both FAs.

Just wanted to add, have you seen the post floating around on social media showing our WRs cap hit next year per player?
Its absurdly low, like it has to be the lowest in the league by many millions of dollars.
We need to invest some money there.

#Patriots WRs Cap Hits:
Mack Hollins | $5.5m
Kayshon Boutte | $3.7m
DeMario Douglas | $3.7m
Kyle Williams | $1.5m
Efton Chism | $1m
Jeremiah Webb | $885k
John Jiles | $885k

Michael mayer is entering his 4th year . Will not be franchise tagged. How about a 4th and 6th this year for Michael mayer.

The other thing it adds is a threat to opposing defenses. Seahawks players said after the Super Bowl that they weren't conserved about the Patriots offense other than Maye. Obviously that's an overstatement, but the Pats still need to add more speed and threats, that will open up the rest of the field for them.

Pierce is a deep threat, Maye has a good deep throw, seems like a match. Still need a Diggs replacement though.

Looks like pierce has competition from raiders , 49ers, chaRgers and us . And all Places have advantages. The only draw for us is Maye and possibility of multiple wins in next few years due to the way we. Are set up unless pierce feels mendoza is next level QB.

If mendoza plays at jayden daniels or Maye level, raiders have extra first round assets and 110 million in cap space and jeanty, bowers, mayer and few studs .

On the cheap end we could go for Bobo.

Belmont kid. Big target which seems to be what Drake likes.
No more #3 or #4 WR's please: we need a Definite #1 or #2.

Unless he is lying he's not signing with the Raiders. S.F. Is a possibility, but his skill set is very different than Purdy's, who is a sink and dunk QB. The Chargers are a possibility, but I'll be surprised if he chooses to play for Harbaugh over Vrabel, unless there is a significant discrepancy in the $$$.

OFC Mayer won't be franchised he's under contract ffs, he's also not quite up to the level of a JAG TE in the receiving department. Granted his blocking is great but a 4th and a 6th for a blocking TE?
