My favorite LG option was just resigned by the Bills. Who is the best option now?

Edwards is likely to hit the market

Probably not the best option but Joel Bitonio?

Joel bitonio for couple of years and draft his replacement or hope brown grows into the role.

I agree. We also need a replacement for Moses and Onwenu.

Onwenu is gone in 2027. Plugging in rookie offensive guards into starting positions is not a good idea - better to draft one year ahead and work them in like some franchises do. Consider Wilson, Robinson, Sow, J Andrews, Strange, etc. which all started their rookie years and did not play well.

It's amazing I keep seeing players being forced off their teams.

If he keeps playing well he isn't going anywhere ... any issues with contract numbers can be addressed with an extension

Owenu hasn't played well since he signed the extension until this season. With that said, I don't think the Pats should extend him, but rather put pressure on him to duplicate 2025. The Pats had an out, but Owenu played well enough for the Pats to just carry the $25M cap hit for next season. Had he been mediocre in 2025, he would've been cut with Diggs.

Next year Onwenu will be 29 looking for an extension/contract. Contracts and extensions are about the future, not the past. Giving extensions at 29 to OL who are know to have carried lots of extra weight through their career are very risky. I doubt the Pats extend Onwenu unless it is on a 1 year deal, which means 1. the Pats still have to draft a replacement, or 2. Onwenu will leave.

they have the leverage when it comes to an extension.

as for 2024, no one played well.

if the numbers work cap wise, he will be here thru his next contract

I need to make a correction, Owenu was pretty mediocre in 2023 prior to the extension. I absolutely hated that contract. This is why I don't want to sign him until I see him stack good seasons together. This has been a bizarre trend in the NFL lately where teams rush to sign a player after having one good season, only to see the player fall off a cliff and come back down to earth.

2023 is when he played rg, rt?

i swear to god people are forgetting just how bad 23 and 24 were

Linderbaum is a better player and will get more bank. What is everyone willing to pay him? And do we still pursue a LG in free agency? Andrews is more unlikely to re-sign with Buffalo now.

I would pay Lindebaum and draft a guard day 2, there will definitely be good ones there for the taking.

I am struggling to understand how Buffalo even afforded this deal. Their cap situation seems like a disaster.

I think that is very doubtful. Vrabel said, "Better, younger, cheaper." Onwenu's extension would be older and more expensive, and maybe not better. We will see.
