The Rams' secondary is the reason they didn't go to the Super Bowl specifically their #1 CB. So it makes sense they would want McDuffie.

The secondary was one of the reasons, but McVay's terrible coaching decision going for it on 4th down was the other.

Interesting move for both teams. KC has another CB (Watson) who will be a free agent as well. Rams aren’t shy about spending draft currency.

Chiefs enter a soft rebuild with Mahomes hurt. Wonder if they try and move on from Chris Jones this summer as well and stockpile some more picks. They have really struggled drafting skill position players on offense for a while now.

Rashee Rice was a hit but he's close to nuking his career.
Xavier Worthy has been mediocre so far.
Skyy Moore was a bust.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire was a bust.
Mecole Hartman was a bust.

They need to jumpstart that offense and I am not sure why they are entertaining bringing Kelce back in what will likely be a down year.

He will absolutely command as much, if not more money. McDuffie isn’t at some above level to him.

There's your answer on why the Chiefs traded him. They didn't want to pay that. Also didn't realize McDuffie is only 25 years old.

Gonzalez is getting at least $30M.

Rams have traded 9 of the last 10 first round picks.
They won a Super Bowl and had only 1 losing season. They do a very good job drafting starters in rounds 2-4 but mainly because they seem to stockpile more picks after the first round. They like to volume draft.
First round picks are a 50/50 proposition, trading them can work out.

Its gonna be a tough year for them i think. Mahomes tore his acl very late in the year, that is going to impact next year. Brady tore his in week 1 of 08 so had way more recovery time, he had some good games in 09 but really wasn’t himself until 2010. Its alot to recover from mentally as well as the physical part. The chiefs have some space now but they have lots of needs too and mahomes is the driving force behind their success. Its not like they have a boatload of space either. Playoffs are possible but hard to see them making alot of noise yet.

ACLs have come a long way since 2008. Diggs returned in 9 months and he is WR who uses his legs every play. Defying the Odds: Stefon Diggs’ Rapid ACL Recovery Through the Lens of Duke Ortho Expertise | Duke Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Mahomes had surgery immediately post injury on 12/15/25. The end of August 2026 adds up to be 8.5 months. Mahomes will wear a brace the same as Brady did.

KC will add a RB with a high pick and a WR. They are still the team to get past for a SB shot.
