PATRIOTS NEWS Looks like the Pats are re-signing Chaisson

Breaking New England Patriots Team News
I think it’s funny, and I can appreciate, the fact that we are able to generate 8 pages of posts in less than 48 hours just from a player saying “I’m back” with zero additional context or news attached since then. Not being sarcastic, I love the participation lol
He didn't say, "I'm back." He played a song that talks about being back with regards to his play, and personal struggles with all the obstacles thrown at him.

No he said "I'm back."

No, Savage Sports said that. He just added a song with that same name. By the way, that post is nowhere to be found on his IG.

More brain rot from social media.

It wasn't an IG post. It was part of stories that disappear after a day, and can only be seen by followers.

Thought I saw he wrote on the image "I'm back" when I followed him and saw it. Like in Rob's example. Are you saying Savage added that?

Could be wrong.

Let’s wait and see if he successfully rehabs after surgery and returns to pay at the same level next season.

It seems unlikely, but for now everything is just speculation.
Weren't there people saying last spring that he wasn't looking like himself in previous years?

It's official - I am old, and don't understand how social media works at all.

Also I've turned a corner and I want Isaiah likely at TE to return home.. he wants to be here.
Of course you did. Once you realized that Pitts wasn't coming here, you latched on to whatever you could find.

Likely is worse than Hooper. Did you watch the game against the Patriots. His effort was so poor.

Two years guaranteed is too much risk . We did not do the same to diggs. But yeah Carlton davis was looking like a bust signing and redeemed in post season.

Landry is prolly the only bad one.
Two completely different situations.
Diggs was coming off an ACL Injury. Landry's ACL injury was prior to the 2022 season.

No. Davis NEVER looked like a bust signing unless you were blind and didn't understand that game.

Impossible to say.
Will edge value be there when we pick at 31?
How highly rated does our Front Office have guys like Zion Young, Howell, Parker, Mesihdor.....etc and will they be available?
We can't get stuck picking a position, the value has to be there. If there's a run on pass rushers, which there usually is, OG, LB, DT....might be the best value when we pick.

I think that the Pats need to look at BPA for either LB, EDGE, or RT. And RT is only if they feel that Bryant will not make the leap to push for a starting position.

He was pretty bad the first 8-10 games for whatever we paid him. It was not looking as value signing. I used to see him have too many penalties and missed assignments and lots of big yardage passes completed. I think he came on after 10th or 12th week.

No. Calton Davis wasn't "pretty bad his first 8-10 games".

He had 1 BAD game. The 1st one. Where he gave up 3 passes for 68 yards. After that, the highest YPR he has was 13. When he gave up 2 receptions for 26 yrds. Yes. He had 1 game were he gave up 5 receptions for 61 yards and one where he gave up 5 receptions for 46 yards. I'm not gonna fault a guy for that. Ever.

You know that he never gave up more than 68 yards in a game, right?

Most of the penalties called against him were bogus. I lost track of how many were called when the ball was uncatchable.

Huge risk moving Wilson to Center based on his performance at LG. The NFL game was too fast for Wilson, I am not sure why the game will slow down for him at Center. But maybe it works out, but there is a lot of risk involved for Drake's 3rd year.

What is your basis for claiming that the NFL game was too fast for Wilson?

What you are failing to acknowledge is that the Pats can move Wilson to Center and let him EARN the starting job. If he doesn't and is the understudy behind someone else (Bradbury?) that's not a bad thing.

Signing someone like McGovern who can play Center or Guard would help mitigate Wilson not earning the starting position.

Anytime you have a true shutdown corner on one side the other corner is going to get a ton of **** thrown their way.

Davis was targeted 68 times in the regular season with 42 completions (61.8%). Davis was targeted 20 times with 10 completions (50%) in the play-offs.

Marcus Jones was targeted 58 times in the regular season with 44 completions (75.9%). Jones was targeted 28 times with 20 completions (71.4%) in the play-offs.

Gonzalez was targeted 76 times in the regular season with 35 completions.(46.1%) Gonzalez was targeted 30 times with 11 completions (33%) in the play-offs.

Craig Woodson was targeted 33 times with 26 completions in the regular season (78.8%). Woodson was targeted 11 times with just 4 completions in the play-offs (36.4%).

Jaylinn Hawkins was targeted 29 times with 19 completions in the regular season (65.5%). Hawkins was targeted 3 times with 3 completions in the play-offs (100%).

I actually don’t think his “I’m back” had anything to do with the Pats, but more a general career statement. As always, it takes two to tango and I could see his desired annual $$ being different than what NE is willing to pay him. We will know soon enough.

No I think there were quite a few of us who felt that way. You can go and look at the game day threads and there was definitely disappointment in the way davis was performing to his contract . It was looking definitely bad and no I was not blind. And I think towards the second half and post season is when davis started to shine more.

Landry, williams , chaisson all started off pretty strong and it took a while for Davis to show his impact.

Same goes for Spillane too. First 4 games they were rank bad and he had so many missed tackles. And after that it was like first 4 games never happened.

let’s see the money. love him for 5M, not so much 10M+

What you "FELT" doesn't mean anything. Neither do the GDTs.. Those are the most gross over-reactions in history typically.

Davis was shining long before the 2nd half of the season. People choose to see what they want and not reality. That's been plainly obvious. Whether you look at the Pro-Football-Reference (PFR) Advanced stats or PFF Stats, Davis played better than people want to think.

PFF says Davis worst game in terms of yards allowed was game 1 with 68 yards allowed on 3 Completions and 68 yards or 22.7 YPC. PFR says that game 1 he allowed 40 yards for 20YPC. After that, the most Davis game up was against Atlanta according to PFR at 61 yards on 5 completions. Those stats tell me that he's not the problem. People's understanding of the game and what actually happened are the problem.

People mention the penalties, but ignore the fact that a majority of them were bogus calls on passes that weren't catchable. I think that maybe 5 of the calls were legit.

I would also add OG to the list. Owenu who I like has no GTD money and may not be willing to rework the contract, they could restructure his deal but an extension is most likely. He is also going to be 29 this year and is already not mobile. LG is also a need because who knows if they plan to move Wilson to Center or try him at LG again. Center is also on the list for me because while Bradbury was decent the position needs something other than Bradbury (trying to be nice here).

I agree that Edge rusher is a need but I think that OL is the biggest need, specifically the IOL
