It's easy, and only takes a few moments.13 championships in 25 years doesn't dredge up those old thoughts anymore.Okay, I'll be that guy just for discussions sake...since this is New England and many of us grew up with nothing but morose feelings of inevitable failure given the Red Sox and Patriots records of ineffectiveness. This is simply channeling that for a moment before we get to our regularly scheduled debates...
What if Maye IS actually injured?
That those throws that weren't just misses but flat out turf balls were from pain not weather? That he can't throw with velocity past ten yards right now?
(okay that was it. Not dwelling and not even believing, but wanted to put it out there just in case).
Fine, bring up the big toe then.....13 championships in 25 years doesn't dredge up those old thoughts anymore.
So let's try to...

His performance has dipped in the playoffs but I didn't see any new problems after the hit in Denver. So I think playoff defenses affected him more than injury. And 2 weeks of rest will help. But he figured it out well enough to beat those defenses. Seattle presents a new challenge so I don’t expect 70% completions. He can still hit big plays when needed and his legs are another weapon. I like him better than Darnold.Okay, I'll be that guy just for discussions sake...since this is New England and many of us grew up with nothing but morose feelings of inevitable failure given the Red Sox and Patriots records of ineffectiveness. From AI: 5 QBs and Stroud twice:Wish I knew the 6 losing QB’s names. I’m positive none of them are near Maye’s talent
They’re only in this game cause the Rams punt returner couldn’t keep his feet on a fair catch.Amazing how ****y Seattle fans are.
Better than I would have guessedFrom AI: 5 QBs and Stroud twice:
Dorian Thompson Robinson 2023 Browns wk 4
Brock Purdy 2023 49ers week 16 -4 picks
Anthony Richardson 2023 Colts week 3 but checking that he did not play so that 1 is off tho he faced him in pre-season 2025 so perhaps that’s getting counted?
CJ Stroud 2023 week1 debut and AFC playoff
Cam Ward week 12 2025
Purdy and Stroud were having good years
Sam Darnold replaced Purdy in 4th quarter of that game
Cam Ward is only guy he faced in last 2 years that matches and had a 91 rating
He's a tap-dancer.A lot of Walkers yards come on bunching up the box and finding his way through and nobody after that to catch him. The way the line has been playing, I doubt he is much of a factor. Plus if the Pats blitz they must A) get home and B) will tie up the RBs.
The changing and disguised looks might cause you know who to see …. GhostsYup. I think the Pats will give him a lot of different looks. Gonzo may cover him some both with and without help.
But I bet they also bracket him with Davis and safety with Gonzo in man vs. their #2.
They can limit JSN if they really want to but it might require a few gambles here and there with other open wrs.
I believe our standout DTs will get a ton of pressure up the middle. They can soften things up and let Chaisson et al crash in on the edge. Their rbs ain't famous for pass pro.
They’re heeeeeerreeeeee….
Also kubiak worries me a bit. Pats historically have had issues with shanahan/zone blocking schemes. They havent been tested recently with outside zone runs but this will be a tough oneThe biggest factor for the Patriots is the play of the D-backfield.
Seattle has one of the 3 top passing offenses in football.
Hawkins and Woodson can't have any brainfarts. If they play a clean game, the Patriots take away the #1 thing the Seahawks do well on either side of the ball.
The 2 most important players other than Maye for this game are Hawkins and Woodson. More important than Milt Williams in some respects since Milt's pressure rate (as high as it is) is much lower than the pass completion rate for the Seahawks.

No and BB ripped Tuna for putting himself before the team.It certainly can't help... Did we have Parcell's full attention in the superbowl while he was romancing the Jete?
