Denvers punter didnt seem to have a problem
Both kickers were almost identical stat wise in the regular season.
Crenshaw kicked it much better in the AFCC game, hard to argue otherwise.
Barringer has the worst avg in the postseason of all qualifying punters.
He hasn't punted very well.

I have no idea what you are chasing here.
Surely you have better things to do.
Huh?

You said jones (and Henderson shouldn’t return kicks in the Sb) then you said it’s because what they are doing works (as if everything is perfect I guess)
Now when I point that out you cry like a 4 year old?
What gives?

Its very possible their punter was not given instruction to keep the ball away from Jones. I agree that Baringer just ****ed up, but looking at different perspectives.

I'm trying to follow your logic here, I don't even know what you are arguing for or against.
I don't think they should return kicks, especially not Jones unless we are trailing in the second half.
You think they should or shouldn't return kicks?
Again, I'm not sure what side you are even arguing for.

How come on every single thread I read you end up arguing with people! You always have to be right!

Feels like the Pats D line hasn't gotten enough credit during this playoff run; this video does a nice job on the subject:

Chism was not dressed against Denver.

What do you mean that "Williams had a shot last week and fumbled"? The Pats had 2 kick-off returns against Denver. Both were taken by D'Ernest Johnson. Against Houston, there were 4 returns. 2 by Chism, 1 By Williams, 1 by Johnson.

So, what are you referring to?
I don’t know. I’m old

Either I confused Johnson and Chism or it was the previous game

I don't know how anyone on this site could defend this guy after this, like I don't know how Drake Maye hurt him, to my mind he's been nothing but worshipping of him and undeservedly so, but wow.

I guess getting beat out by Mac Jones broke him.

All of those guys probably jump on a loose ball in the SB.

I would need to see the full context of this quote. If he means Maye has not been the primary reason they won the last three playoff games, he is correct. It's the defense.

Otherwise, Maye is the #1 reason they won the division. MVP candidate with an all-pro selection. Those guys were asked to simply make a few big plays a game/not turn it over. Nothing more.

you can do both - have decent kicks and not get it blocked
Yeah the Denver punter was better. But maybe that is due to familiarity and not trying to keep it out of the hands of one particular person.

this may have some truth to it if you average out the players over the season. However, if you’re looking at how guys are playing lately it’s different.

Williams, Barmore, Durden, Woodson, Gonzo all playing at high levels on defense. Pro bowl to all pro levels. Spillane when healthy
Many people are underestimating the individual talent on this team as so many players have gotten better as the season went on. Rhamondre, Onwenu, Bradbury and Moses on offense for example
And then there were 6: five on Defense and one on Offense.

It will be really tough to score 28 without turnovers or special teams giving short fields

I don't see Seattle's offense as being dominant enough to merit needing 28 though. Forget the last game, they've been a good not great offense all year. Against great defenses (which I would argue the Patriots have evolved into being), they haven't exactly lit it up.

20 against Jax, 18 against the Colts, 27 against the Texans but aided by turnovers (underlying stats for that game are rough - 4.7 yards/play, 4 turnovers committed), 19 in the first Rams game. Seattle can get to ~20 pure offensive points without Patriots turning the ball over but I see that as the high end of their expected points.
It will be difficult to score 17 points without turnovers or special teams giving us short fields.

But *teams* have rushed for over 160 yards 3 times against the Patriots (168 v. Bills, 171 @ Ravens, 164 @Jets). Of course, all three of those game had No Williams, No Tonga, No Spillane and Barmore on one ankle.
this

None taken.
Maybe second half if we're trailing.
Again, imagine if Jones got hurt early in the game.
I don't trust any of our other CBs to take his place.
Any other game I would agree with you. This is for the SB and a possible TD or better field position is worth the risk for me. He could get hurt but also he could stay safe and be the deciding factor.
This is the game to lay it all out there

And Jones hasn't been our man to return kickoffs all year and we've won 17 games and made to the SB.
That's plenty of evidence that what we've been doing has worked well enough.
So, you think that we are so likely to beat Seattle that we need no improvement?

We definitely should have Henderson returning kicks.

Either I confused Johnson and Chism or it was the previous game
easy to confuse
Their production is about the same: dismal.

I thought they tried to keep it away from Marcus , just like we dont want mims to return it either

I never said we are so likely to beat Seattle that we need no improvement.
Jones has not returned kicks and is extremely valuable to the D and punt returns.
If we can play O like we have for most of the reg season, that is the improvement that would give us the best chance to win.
I could understand if he returned kicks in the second half if we were trailing and our Offense needed a spark, otherwise I would be incredibly surprised, even shocked to see him back there.

All Scam is doing is whoring for attention. He was no different when he was playing with the outfits and hieroglyphic twitter messages. It must take him hours to get dressed. I never realized what a clown he is until he was in NE.

Scam was just a fair QB and not a HOFer.
