2026 Draft: Interior OL

With the 64th pick, the New England Patriots select Guard Carter Smith, Indiana. Maybe.
Just announced he's staying in school.

Just announced he's staying in school.

This is very disappointing.

A center uh? Interesting
I wouldn't read too much into player meetings at this stage. I read something last year, that teams are often just confirming personal details at these games. If we start seeing us meeting with centers at the combine and beyond then you can see it as part of a pattern.

Position, yay; player, meh.
Why would we need a center, yay, with Bradbury being OK, and Wilson is hopefully the center of the future - Wilson did not look like a guard this year.

We need a LG, and then a RG and RT by 2027?

It was a half-hearted, yay. The player is 6 year Sr. ANd bit a great prospect at all.

Next time you go to say, BPA, bite your tongue. The more you chat the further away you get from it.

I know I know. I bite my tongue a lot. Then I try to bring myself back to what I know we should do.

We could have had Cooper DeJean instead of Ja'lynn Polk. It is what we should have done and guys on at the time were calling for it.

I'm not as big a fan of Ioane as some. Limited athleticism and movement skills. I think I prefer Pregnon, now that my OT to LG converts have all stayed in school for 2026.

Of course, I am in the minority about keeping Jared Wilson at LG in 2026.

The fact that the team brought Wilson straight back in a LG following his injury when Brown had done so well there tells me the team think he's the LG of the future too.

Nothing wrong with that.

Micah Morris, OG, Georgia 6045, 346lbs, 33 3/8 arms

Played LG at Georgia although he also has experience at RG. Zero sacks this year, zero career sacks given up in over 1,500 snaps. Only gave up 4 pressures all year.

Run blocking grade not that good though.

Garrett DiGiorgio, UCLA, All The OL Positions, 6'6", 321lbs, 32.5" arms
Just a name to consider as a potential UDFA because of his versatility. He has played LT, RT and guard in his 5 year career and played all 5 OL positions at the Shrine Game.

Had good Shrine game reviews including the game itself.

I'm not suggesting he's anyone special, just that that positional flexibility has good value. Ideal PS/pre-season player.
