OT: Snowmaggedon 2026

Current situation here, the cedar trees can’t take it

 
This is probably a douchey thing to say right now, but my favorite possession might be the all-house generator I had installed a couple years ago. It really takes away a lot of my weather-related anxiety.
 
Retired snowbird. 80 degrees here in Cape Coral. Gonna go for a dip in the pool before the game

I moved 120 miles north from Mass to Maine, gonna get one of those next year, worth the money.
 
I have a Shih Tzu-maggedon situation ….
Dog has a cataclysmic case of the runs.

OT: 84 degrees, mostly sunny


 
My stupid Star Trek game apparently thinks New England is not involved in this storm. *looks outside* Yeah, clear sailing out there. /sarcasm

Not douchey at all. In fact you're being an outright mensch reminding the folks that don't have one that they should.

We retired to Maine as well. Installed ours when we built the house, can't tell you how many times it has been relied on since. Def my 2nd favorite appliance, right after the bar chiller

Funny you mention a dirty car. I caught a great high 40 degree day and gave her a wash not that long ago. Looked awesome. A little less than a day later it was filthy again.

That's what I found too.

I was fighting a battle trying to keep the car clean that I couldn't win. I didnt care about that when I was younger because my cars were junks that cost $200.
 
It's warmed up here the last couple of days.

Now 79º with a little breeze here in Pinellas County, FL.
Just got back from a pleasant stroll in shorts & t-shirt, through the county park on the water a half mile from my home.

I was outside earlier debating whether I'm going to wear shorts and a t-shirt. I'm going to a friends house to watch the game.

Technology has come a long way.

Heat pumps used to be toast below 20 degrees.
 
Chilly 80 degrees here today… . I honestly don’t know how all those back home in New England do it. My knees start hurting when it’s about to get “cold” here in FL. Can’t imaging how I’d feel up there now. It is definitely beautiful in parts up there, that part I do miss. Fall especially.
 
Just cold rain in Atlanta, but northeast Georgia is fixing to get well over an inch of ice. It's not going to be pretty
