Mac: "I want to be coached harder"

I think he's just saying he welcomes being coached tough
I'm not sure what exactly he means, but regardless of the interpretation, it's inarguable that he is saying the coaching is not adequate in some fashion.

It sounds like after last night we have a mutiny on our hands. Bourne was echoing similar sentiments. I'm glad. They should put pressure on Patricia to be fired. Bill can't bench the entire unit.

Yeah I get it, I could just see a universe where he's saying "Hey I don't have a problem with coaching, I welcome being coached hard," as opposed to "I'm not getting coached hard enough and that needs to change"

Yes and the short passing game is what is protecting Mac and avoid him to turn the ball over. The have 0 confidence in him.

But the short game's not gaining any yards.

If he had an average OL, we’d see better play from Mac. He’s only got 2 guys he can count on, Andrews and Strange, the rest are hot trash.

You mean Andrews & Onwenu... For the 29th overall pick in the draft, Strange69 kinda Sucks too.

Bottom line the AFC is the Bills, Dolphins, Chiefs world and we are just living in it.

What do these teams all have in common?
Dynamic offenses with superior talent at either QB or WR with top notch offensive coaches.

Exactly. But right off the bat, his first thought in the quote is that it’s someone else’s fault. How about just leaving that part out and saying something like, “I need to be better. I’ll watch the film and learn from this.” Hell, I’d even accept, “We all need to play better, and it starts with me.” Charmin-soft mentality.

Did you see his press conference last night? He took the blame for everything from the sideline rant to the fumble between him and Stevenson to the entire offense. I think he said he said some form "I didn't do enough" like 100 times.

Yeah, but as Kontra's psychic gifts allowed him to divine, Mac didn't really mean it

I'm just sick of these threats of censorship & banishment directed at just one/two posters based solely on the Incorrect perception that they're merely trolling and not discussing or opining... Rubs me the wrong way...
Yeah I understand...and I agree with you. But saying STFU? I don't agree with that.

Still a lot more games to go too. There's going to be some intense meetings...

…you honestly believe he meant that? The shouting at the coaches and now this quote seem to indicate that he believes his poor play is someone else’s fault first and his fault second. When people are upset, and he seems to get upset quite a bit, they speak to how they really feel. It’s not until later, after they’ve calmed down, that they begin to massage the truth and play down everything they said. That’s the case here. He was clearly talked to in the time period between the game ending and his postgame presser. What you see there is the B.S. he was told to spit out.

Mac's sideline frustration/shouting for more downfield throws is understandable, he reiterated that during his postgame presser and didn't back down from it: "Obviously I kind of let my emotions get to me, but we're playing from behind. What I said was throwing it deeper ... the short game we kept going to. Which was working, but I thought we needed chunk plays and I shouted that out to get everyone going. That's emotional, that's football. I'm passionate about this game. Obviously, you don't want your emotions to get the best of you but that's pretty much it. We needed a spark."

That 17.7 right next to the 137.5 is kind of bizarre...
Last night, Mac threw the ball to Meyers in the 17.7 zone...but Meyers couldn't catch up to the ball...Mac released the ball as late as he could (he was hit immediately after releasing the ball). Guessing the left side of the field takes more time to go through reads for a right handed QB....which also explains the poor screen passing zone on the lower left hand side too...

I saw it. Sounded like someone talked to him and coached him prior to it. Again, people tend to show/tell you what they really mean when they’re at their most upset. That coupled with this quote, now, where he blames the coaches before himself, is not a good look. Neither is sliding before the first down marker on key downs and at key points in the game. He appears mentally and physically soft.

That’s what we need. A few more moon balls that hang like punts into tight, contested coverage because our WRs can’t get deep separation. This is on top of Brown playing ill and the OL being banged up.
