My question to those ready to crown the Bills

Of course there is but that’s fine you have your opinion and clearly aren’t interested in being open minded about. Time to move on.
Who is it again that isn't being open-minded?

Yep. Health will be a big reason imo why it would get better.
And talent - or more specifically the bare-faced lack of it - will be a big reason why it won't...

True. The learning of the offense I think is somewhat overplayed. Brady said the terminology has changed but the routes are the routes. I think what was smart about Arians approach was only having Brady learn the offense as he won't have to teach anything to the rest of the team. Given Brady's high football IQ, I can't imagine anything related to the play book will hold him back. He won't let it..

Routes are routes. Playcalling and trust is night and day from here to TB.

In terms of the receivers, Brady has never had any issue developing trust and rapport with really good receivers. I am thinking of Moss who did not even play in the preseason, Josh Gordon who came at the end of August, AB last year who showed up after week 1, Martellus Bennett. Those are the caliber of players he will have in Tampa. Not Aaron Dobson types.

Agree.

I also don't think he will take more hits. Arians will get the ball out of his hands and he has a pretty good Oline too. He didn't make it age 43 on a brand new, fully guaranteed contract because of taking unnecessary hits. He will manipulate the pocket as he always does and get rid of the ball either to a receiver or out of bounds to avoid the big hits.

We'll see. QBs under Arians are expected to hang in there and we know Tom has the balls to do that. If he is milliseconds behind on his timing and throws it away, that'll be like 2019- especially if his receivers don't adjust or can't read defenses like he can.

Who is it again that isn't being open-minded?
The guy who expects a 43 year old coming off his worst play to have a career year because he put up those kind of numbers many years ago.

He & others like me are stating that Brady will have a better season this year than he did last year ...Those that believe otherwise are not completely taking into account just how truly league-worst Horrible our WRs & TEs were then and still are now.

I don’t believe he will have a better season because he is 43. But that is beside the point of the discussion which was that he would put up numbers that match his prime.

We are patriots fans.

1. All AFC quarterbacks are worse than our QB.

2. Our rookie LB's will be solid contributors.

3. Our rookie TE's will be solid contributors.

4. Our OL will be healthy.

The other AFC teams are so bad (as usual) that they will collapse and allow the patriots win the division no matter what talent we have.

We may very well win the division. Maybe Stidham is really one of the very best 3rd to 5th round QB picks in the past 20 years. It happened 20 years ago, so surely we can hope. Besides, we can win the AFC with Hoyer (NOT).

The only reason that Stidham isn't the consensus worst QB in the AFC is because of the aura of Belichick, the one who took a 6th rounder and partnered with him to make him the GOAT of the NFL.

We really are counting on the rookies to produce, as well as Allen and Vitale, and of course Stidham.

Actually the only reason why JS4 isn’t the consensus worst QB in the AFC is because he has played a grand total of zero meaningful minutes of football and nobody has the faintest idea how good he is or isn’t except those who have seen him in practice.

Not nice to mock

Yup. JS4 gets a ton of grief for his pick 6 in his debut... much of that from the same #Tommy lovers that forgot their binky was *that* close to one of his own in his first NFL start.

To follow this argument to its logical conclusion, the same is true for all the rookies and UDFA QB's in the league. Why bother drafting a QB in the top of the 1st. After all, we don't know. Maybe the 4th rounder is just as good.

It is my personal belief that any fan who believes that Stidham is a better prospect than Tua is delusional. And, yes, I well understand that we are free to believe that Stidham is a top QB, and that some of the UDFA WR's will be top contributors in 2010.

There is no way to prove that some with ZERO experience isn't an all-pro quality player. After all, some all-pros have indeed been drafted in the 6th round or were UDFA's. These facts do not make it reasonable to expect Stidham to be a top QB or even as good as ANY of the other AFC quarterbacks. I suspect that he is the 3rd-5th best QB of the five (including Fitzpatrick). Rosen isn't included because he has probably been ruined by now (if Rosen were on the patriots roster, that might be different).

JS4 has played absolutely no meaningful football but has a lot of talent and is getting good reviews from the team. With the right coaching - and we still have Bill - he'll do well enough. He will not be asked to put the team on his back and win games by himself like Brady was - and neither did Brady when he started. If he was, he would fall flat on his face. It's a new era and a new offense. I can't wait to see what happens.

I think it's way too premature to say anything like he is the worst QB in the AFC. Let's see him take some meaningful snaps first.

A better question is will Stidham put up better stats than 24 Tds/8 picks and 4000 yards?
I really hope at least one of the TEs we drafted is solid.

This year we’ll see if theyre for real. Great season last year, but rare to see consecutive good seasons from another afce team. If they have a letdown division is easily ours. If not I could see it both ways.

I heard BB decided 7 years ago he wanted 2 guys in the exact mold of Asiasi and Keene.
Anything short if Ben Watson and Aaron Hernandez will be a disappointment.

Easily ours? Least talented skill position group in the division with a QB who has never started an NFL game. Virtually no run-stopping DT depth, and we lost 2 of our starting LBs. Please explain.

if the division sucks we would win. The defense is still good enough to carry us to 9 or 10 wins if the offense still sucks.
