Brady gone

I just want to say thank you TB12. I wish retirement was your choice; if only for the "never played anywhere but one place" nostalgia, but understand that there is a fire that burns in you which simply makes that not possible.

Your professional run coincided with me entering my adult years; and while people remember the sports legends of their youth with almost mythical like reverence, mine came in the form of you upon my return to the US.

While many people "root for the laundry", I typically am not one of them. I grew up outside of the US, so I wasn't "born and raised" into a sports team fandom. I rooted for you and your success and like Baseball before it, my sports fandom hours devoted to the NFL will recede with you moving on.

Thanks for your drive to be great, your will to get it done when it seemed like it couldn't, you remembering where your journey started from, and for being a champion six times over.

I wish you all the best and look forward to buying just one more jersey for my collection, even if turns out to be one of the worst color combinations in sports.

Anyone waking up this morning surprised is delusional. If the BB wanted Brady back, he would have had him extended midway through last season. The fact the season was over and Brady had no new contract, had "Brady is done in NE" written all over it.

Hard to believe the butterfly effect of Antonio Brown’s social media account could be so devastating.

According to Curran that is it with Brady news for today.
that's interesting. You would think that he had a deal in place somewhere after posting the farewell. This sounds like Tom was just fed up with BB and wanted out no matter what.

what a chicken little

Bill Belichick should have his GM powers revoked.

They both acted in character.

Tom has a chip on his shoulder and wants to prove himself elsewhere. BB put the team first.

Business as usual but this time the outcome is different and it hurts like hell.

I still respect them both and will root for both of them.

I will root for him if he goes to NFC and possibly even if he goes to Chargers.

Just wish he had not been so whiny last year and kind of thrown BB and Caesario under the bus. They tried to get him weapons last year, its just everything did not work out due to injuries, drug problems, mental breakdowns (AB) and unexpected retirement.
I think last year throws a bit of a stain on his legacy as the ultimate teammate, but still obviously greatest Patriot to ever play the game.
Also did not love all the drama on his way out this year.

After the Gronk fiasco last year I think the Pats gave a pretty clear deadline and then gave him their offer which he rejected.

I can't blame either side. BB has an obligation to 53 (or even 90+) players and an organization while Brady naturally also wants the best situation for himself.

Maybe?

:D

I'm a Pats fan before I am a Brady fan.........he blew his chance to go out on top like Gronk.......gotta love hubris
Well, I mean, I am all for “team over player” but while Brady didn’t light the world on fire - his campaign at 42 (!) years old is pretty epic.

One could easily argue that if 2019 was Brady’s last year, he “came out on top”. Not many 30 year olds could do what Brady did last season.

Team first, but Brady was NOT embarrassing last year - by any metric.

All I can do is say thank you Tom for giving us so many years of excitement! I wish him the best, he will truly be missed.

would be really something if they cancel the NFL season and Brady just retires...

Nope... Pick 6 out of his end zone. Which was eerily like the pick 6 against Miami, that basically killed the Patriots season.

Thems the facts and now it's up to rest of the team to pick up the pieces.

The Packers won a super bowl after Farve

The Broncos won a super Bowl after Elway.

The Giants won 4 super bowl with 3 different QBs.

The Steelers won 2 super bowls after Bradshaw.

The Chiefs won a Super Bowl after Dawson.

The 49ers won a super bowl after Montana.

The Redskins, Cowboys, Raiders, Ravens did it too.

There is life post HOF QB leaving.
What's your point?

my guess is that he's got his next move already figured out...........no point in this morning messages if he hasn't
Oh, I am sure he's got a plan. From where I sit, it's either 30m x 2 from Miami or 199 productions.
