Their unprecedented success absolutely validates BB's approach.
The constant mewling from entitled POS fans means nothing when you're talking about a level of success fans of other teams can only dream about. I really wish some of you weren't such bitter people that you couldn't enjoy a team whose success isn't merely once in a lifetime but almost certainly something that will only happen once in the history of the entire league.
Just sit down, stfu and enjoy what you were given ffs.
Sorry fnord, but i think you are the one being entitled
entitled
adjective
- believing oneself to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment.
The Patriots should be treated like any other team in the NFL, as a business-football enterprise. I think we both agree on that. So why should we excuse an area that clearly lacking?
In general terms: If one-team (no names) can't ever draft a position well - or hardly ever - shouldn't that be scrutinized? So why are you not acknowledging that we have been like this with receivers?
It doesn't diminish BB's status... He's the best. He's gBut he isn't perfect.
Dude, seriously. Nobody is saying that they're perfect. They've whiffed plenty of times. This whole 'why aren't we allowed to criticize' Belichick canard is either ignorance or bad faith.
Where the entitlement comes in is when people are unable to appreciate the entire body of work - factoring in mistakes and successes - and instead start acting like Belichick has personally injured them by not putting together a roster and scheme that was able to win it all.
Honestly, trying to turn that around to me being entitled is the dumbest **** I've read here in a while.
All true, but Gronk/Allen were much better blockers than Watson/LaCosse and that mattered too.
Great insults. Thumbs up.
I will say that you are right, and correct that you can’t judge a draft class after their first year. I was absolutely wrong to state it like I did. So is it “horrendous”? ...agreed that’s completely unfair. I used that statement though with regard to impact this year which has been damn weak. 7 of 10? C’mon, you know most of those guys barely played.
The impact a class has in year one does have to be a factor in how the GM’s performance is viewed in the context of your team situation. This is a win now team.
Someone made a parallel to the 2009 Draft. Brady was a decade younger. We could afford to look more towards the future then, and stash rookies away.
Your master class on the depth chart works against you. Why are we trading up in the 2nd (Williams) to pick another player in our strongest area?
Why are we spending a 3rd on a RB when we have 3 good ones on the roster already, and it’s one of the most replaceable positions in the game?
Where's the pick from trading Hollister to the Seahawks?
Where's the pick from trading Hollister to the Seahawks?
We have had, on average, during bbs tenure a well above average wr/te group. We agree that BB has masterfully managed an era of salary cap. And we agree that he has created a great place to find and develop players through the draft. Except at WR. It's a place where critiscism is valid.
I haven't seen anything on the OP's that would discredit BB's history. He's putting forward one area where we have been very poor and thusly it is open to critiscim...
Not doing so, because everything else is so fantastic, would be treating the team in special regard. So that's why I said it.
But maybe the whole thing with the word didn't work for real, but English is my 3rd language
Im talking about drafting WRs, specificallyWe have had, on average, during bbs tenure a well above average wr/te group.
I’m not because you can’t take it out of context.Im talking about drafting WRs, specifically
Sadly we could have still taken Harry #1, taken Metcalf #2 and Knox #3.Russel Wilson making a point to say how smart Metcalf is and how fast he picked up the offense and how hard he studied is making me die a little bit on the inside.
They won the Sb LAST YEAR. They were in the Sb 2 years ago. They win the sb 3 years ago. They won the Sb 5 years ago. They just ended a 8 year run of going at least to the final 4. You really are an idiot and you are doubling down with each post.
