Does that mean $9 million cap space is back??????

.
it was 5.75 I believe but seems like everyone is tapping in the dark and waiting for Miguel

I definitely think they came to a conclusion that he was not trustworthy moving forward. But I also think it is a brand issue. In the legal world it means nothing. When you care what people think about your team and fear fallout from him humiliating and possible threat to a woman while under your watch. Then I would think Kraft would want him gone. Or the Monday bonus theme might have been the main issue. If they have not paid him yet then this is their out. Who knows
Any damage to the brand by the text issue was already done.

If they were cutting him because of the texts he wouldn’t have practiced today. Something happened after practice.

Agree. Reality is he is sooooo dumb I can't believe it. He was a Patriot if he just did not send that text.

And honestly, looking at the actual text, I do think it was kind of alarming, even a little menacing.. and "menacing" someone is a thing in law by the way too.

I didn't think those texts were that bad...or at least as bad as taunting a woman about ejaculating on her back. Brown cc'd his own lawyer and some Eric B dude who probably was his financial guy or something. It shows major unawareness of societal norms.

Amazing how some humans are geniuses in one thing and completely stupid in other things.

The Brown roller-coaster:

THEN, NOW, the moron goes and group texts threatening (and yes, they were exactly that) messages to a woman who was unnamed, who wasn't pressing any charges, who wasn't suing Brown or asking for money.

F*** him and good riddance to bad rubbish!

I'm a little surprised that the reaction to these newest texts on the Board seems to be: "there must have been something more". As you say, the texts were not only clearly threatening her, they were very clearly threatening her kids (he PUT THE KIDS PICTURES IN THEM). How much more reprehensible can you be?

Let me put it this way for the Board. Suppose you got a text threatening you. What would be your reaction? Well, I would probably not be very happy and I might explore legal options.

Now: Suppose that the text is making a very serious THREAT TO YOUR KIDS and the sender has the financial means and dark history to be taken seriously. I won't say what I would or wouldn't do (and, I think it is hard to know until you have personally walked in those shoes), but suffice it to say my reaction would be 100x that of being personally threatened. I imagine the reaction for many would range from moving heaven and earth to see that person behind bars to more extreme (and regrettable for all) actions.

Surely the target (the second accuser) will press criminal charges, wouldn't any of you? In my mind these latest texts alone were enough for BB to drop him, especially if he knew criminal charges were coming.

If nothing else - when Brown actually does something else, he will forever be 'Former Patriots Receiver Antonio Brown', just like 'Former Patriots Tight End Kellen Winslow'.

he;s as dumb as a stump

This clause is probably more important than the "damage to brand" one. Possible they may have learned he would be placed on the exempt list after practice and they acted swiftly to recoup the cap money based on this clause rather than have to pay a guy who might be suspended for the whole season. If that's the case we probably won't know since players without teams aren't added to the exempt list, but we'll be able to guess because no one else will sign him.

I wouldn’t say easily. Right now their main competition is KC. They have money if they want to acquire some more defensive help. Baltimore is still an unknown. What we need to hope for is for Gordon to stay sober and maybe a guy like Meredith if he’s healthy can be another big bodied wideout after gordon for us.

Don’t forget about Harry.

Wait.
There’s innocent until proven guilty but you seem to be crossing the line to say AB was a saint and everyone who crossed his path was involved in a conspiracy to make things up to make him look like a dbag.
I don’t agree with punishment for accusation but if you really think the women are the problem and AB is faultless, dude come on.
I think unfortunately the Boston media especially Felcher that moron tried and executed him on the airwaves and just kept pumping gas on the fire...oh well on to sunday

I honestly feel he has been wronged

Even if you're as innocent as baby Jesus and your accuser is a lying whore with an agenda, you don't threaten her with a friggen text message no matter how much righteous rage you're feeling. The only possible defense now is brain damage.

He's an idiot. The text messages were indefensible. The rest you could make a case for.
I was done this morning as well. He was insulting a lot of people, some of them with limited resources, buy his jerseys, pay for game tickets to watch him play and he thinks because he can catch a football, he is better than so many people. I took offense at his tone and it became a pattern as well if you compare his text with the one from the lawsuit. The commonality being that he views being broke as a huge insult and a tool to shame people.
He is a hypocrite as well, that smile, the call God BS and the victim's mentality of his just became too much for me. Something had to give today.

Brown needs to beat these charges before he thinks about football! I wanna see what klemko will do now. He’s probably popping champagne right now

To those saying we are doomed, we did put up 33 points in the opener on the Steelers without him.

And this defense still looks to be Elite.

As long as Gordon keeps his head on straight, brown was a luxury but not a necessity

So replacing him should be easy
To be honest, he came after we had established our WE corp.

The Thomas release was something I didn't like. And we could use him now, but he's hurt.

But I understand your point

does that mean we get all the cap room back or is that different?
