How does the 2019 team NOW compare to the 2007 team?

2007 team didn’t have any depth.

Brady was better better in ‘07.

How can 2007 Brady be better when he hasn’t played a snap in 2019? That could be the judgement when the season is over, but there is no way to say it right now.

It will be fun to see the answer to this question when the season is over.

This might be the deadliest play-action team in history.

Regards,
Chris

Agree completely. I still see them forcing many team’s to stop their run game and then opening up their passing game. It will depend upon the opponent, but it’s going to be almost impossible to deal with.

Didn’t think he would come back because of the beating he’s taken. However, this may change things as he’s not going to draw the same attention he’s gotten with the talent they’ve added. If just for his blocking he’d be worth it. His receiving would just be an added bonus.
if Gronk comes back things are ridiculous scary at that point

It’s going to be different, as this team was built much more to run the ball than the 2007 team was. So the final analysis can’t be simply about passing numbers.

QB - 2007 by far
Offense - call me when we score as much as we did in 2007 (and, yes, it could happen)
Defense - 2019 may be better that 4th in points allowed (or not)
Overall - 2007's point differential will NOT be beaten

So, sure, every SB winner is better that 2007, or not. However, this is only sense in which the 2019 can be considered better OVERALL than the 2007 team, a team which was a fluke play away from being the best team in NFL history.

Let’s see, he’s was 12 years younger. He’s in his 40’s now. I’ll just stop right there as there’s no need for an explanation why.

There is no comparison. This is 2019, move on.

The difference is we’re going 19-0 and winning the bowl.

Then I guess you will have to explain how he played better at 37-40 than he did 33-36?

I hate to say it but the schedule outside of Baltimore, Philly, KC, and Dallas looks fairlly straight forward... 16-0 is a real possibility.

19-0, book it.
Let's not tempt fate by going 16-0 in the regular season. We're better off at 12-4 to 14-2 with a slight chip on our shoulders. It is far too easy to get ****y at 15-1 or 16-0.

This 2019 Patriots is quite potentially the 2007 Patriots in terms of NFL domination. We'll see, but with a defense that some have already ranked as #1, an offense that appears to be as potent as the best in the league along with a favorable schedule, 19-0 is on the table.

I don’t think “ we” are going to have much say in that....

With Brady (or anyone) age vs. experience is always a good debate. I think the Brady of, say, 2014 wins the 2007 Super Bowl.

Through 2 games:

2007 Patriots - 76 points

2019 Patriots - 76 points

They compare in the sense that neither won the SB. If this free wins it, then I prefer them.

One thing for sure : I wasn’t crazy about the 07 D. Sure love this one.

I just looked at KC schedule and I feel same way, their only losses are us, GB, maybe Baltimore. They might lose one to the Chargers but I think the Chargers will be off this year
